P.S= #71: Would I Be A Killer?

Cory's heart raced as the Ayakashi rose to his feet. He drew his sword with lightning-fast reflexes. "What the hell are you doing here?" he demanded.

"We were sent here to kill you," the Ayakashi replied with a malevolent grin.

"By who?"

"Samuel," the Ayakashi sneered. "He's our master."

Cory's eyes narrowed. "I don't know who that is."

The Ayakashi didn't wait for further conversation before launching himself at Cory, his hand coated in stage 2 Haku. As he charged, his arm morphed into a razor-sharp sword. With a metallic clang, their weapons collided.

"The master was just doing his friend a favor," the Ayakashi said through gritted teeth.

"Who?" Cory shouted over the clash of swords.

"Goujirou," the Ayakashi snarled.

Cory cursed under his breath. He couldn't believe Goujirou had stooped so low. "Damn him."

The Ayakashi swung his sword with deadly precision, but Cory was ready. He kicked the Ayakashi in the chest, sending him reeling backward. Without missing a beat, Cory activated his magic drive and infused his sword with its power.

The Ayakashi charged forward again, deflecting Cory's powerful slashes with his own sword hand. But Cory was relentless. He dodged and weaved, striking at every opening. The clash of their swords echoed through the air as they danced around each other.

The only way to stop him is to destroy his core. Cory thinks to himself.

Without hesitation, Cory launched himself at the Ayakashi, driving his sword straight through its chest. The Ayakashi's eyes widened in shock, but then he began to laugh. "Don't you know that we Ayakashi have the ability to move our core?" it taunted.

Cory gritted his teeth and used his sword to cut down the Ayakashi's body, hoping that the core was below where he had stabbed him. But it wasn't. The Ayakashi swung its hand sword at him, and Cory drew his sword to block the attack, but it was too late. The Ayakashi's sword cut Cory in the face.

Cory rolled back, dropping his sword in the process. He got up, touching his bleeding face and letting out a loud groan. "GAAAAH!"

The Ayakashi starts to regenerate. With a fierce determination in his eyes, Cory activated his magic drive again. "Shadow Magic Drive: Shadow Hands!!" he shouted, conjuring huge hands made of shadow to grab the Ayakashi. But the creature easily cut and dodged them.

The Ayakashi closed the distance between them, swinging its hand sword once again. But then, Cory remembered what Soranel had told him ("Only a few Haku user's can use stage 7 because only a few alone can pass stage 5 I was lucky to have a teacher You should give it a try. plus stage 7 isn't just for attack it's great for defense both against Haku and normal attack.")

("Yea by taking ones Haku and coats it around any part of their body and then compress it on to your skin this stage is way stronger that Stage 2 and 6.")

As he started to coat his hand, he remembered something else Soranel had said. ("We should kill him,") Soranel had suggested. But Cory shook his head. I would never use that power of a killer. He thought.

The Ayakashi swung its sword once more, and Cory used his Haku-enhanced vision to see where it was going to land. He dodged it barely. "Pathetic. I can't believe this is the fight I got. I'm an A-rank Ayakashi, why did that bastard send only one? Ayakashi are stronger than me. After all, they are Alphas," it muttered.

The Ayakashi walked up to Cory, took his sword, and threw it back at him. "Take it up. I want to kill you with your own sword in your hands," it said.

Cory looked at the sword, but he didn't take it up. "If I use stage 7 Haku, would I be a killer like him?" he wondered.

But then, he heard Misaki's voice. "COOOOOOOORY!" she shouted as she fell out of the sky.

Cory and the Ayakashi both looked up, but the Ayakashi was annoyed. "Don't tell me you're giving up," it said.

Cory shook his head. "Right. I don't need stage 7 Haku. I was doing quite fine without it. I will just learn and master the rest. I don't need it," he thought to himself.

He took up his sword, and he and Misaki coated their swords in stage 2 Haku. Cory's blade turned blue and black, while Misaki's turned dark purple.

"Dragon Sword Style: Dragon Slash X Dragon Claw!" they both shouted as they charged at the Ayakashi, cutting it down with a powerful attack.

The Ayakashi turned to dust, and the wind blew it away. Cory and Misaki make their way up back to the cave when they reached their they saw Elliott and ava waiting for them. Mr Yuki walks in after with a bag. "Come on let's back home."
