Hesitation

All they needed is a single moment of distraction, to escape or to just directly kill the wild boar.

Kathleen kept dodging the tail attacks as she defended against the boar which kept rushing towards her to tackle her.

The small trees around them are already destroyed and the big ones are being used by Kathleen to take cover from the attacks.

She know she really have to be careful because she simply can't keep up with the boar's speed, if she were to be hit by one of the tusks of the boar, her bones will definitely break and being slashed by the sharp edge of it's tail will lead her not only to have a severe injury but the place where she got hurt will also be paralyzed by the Poison.

The boar suddenly let out a squeelling sound as it manipulated one of it's tails to charge towards Kathleen.

Kathleen took a sword stance as she observed the tail's movements.

[Mana Slash]

Mana gushed out from her hand as it engulfed around the sword, she slashed it towards the fierce tail attack which was heading in her direction. A white coloured slash which was created by the mana rushed towards the tail.

Boom~

The attacks collided as they created a booming sound. Kathleen shook her head seeing that all her attack did was bounce back the tail. Although she could've used her Swordsmanship, the boar was retreating back everytime she uses a powerful attack, making it hard for Kathleen to injure the boar or move around.

Since sophie probably already harvested the fruits, she wanted to escape rather then fighting without a reason, her plan was to jump on to a branch and escape from moving one branch to another.

However, they both forgot to analyse the surroundings. The trees and their branches are so high that she can't jump on to them so easily, even if she did, moving from one branch to another is impossible as the trees are quite far away to eachother.

Swoosh~

Just when she thought that there was no openings to attack the boar, an arrow suddenly appeared out of nowhere and hit the boar. However, it only rushed passed the boar's neck making a slight injury on it. The boar fell into panic and started looking and sniffing around to spot it's enemy's location.

Sensing a opportunity to attack, Kathleen decided to take the risk as she closed her eyes.

Her figure suddenly blurred as she disappeared from the place she stood a second ago. The boar came out from it's panic mode and instantly realised that it neglected it's enemy, but it was already late because it sensed a dangerous presence behind It's back.

Kathleen suddenly appeared behind the boar as she brought down the sword on to her enemy's back.

Her Sword was not augmented with any special magic this time, she displayed the pure Swordsmanship according to the memories she has seen and according to how her father taught her.

As the sword landed on the wild boar's back, it sliced through the flesh like a butter but it stopped there, failing to go through the bones. The boar's body shivered from the pain and it sprinted forward detaching itself from the sword.

It started squeelling in pain while running, but with two injuries on it's back, it's speed was not even as fast as a normal human. Suddenly, Sophie came running towards Kathleen as she came out from behind a tree.

"Kathleen, this is your chance, kill it now." She yelled as she arrived beside Kathleen.

Kathleen also know that, so she moved forward and caught up with the boar, Sophie also followed behind them.

However, as Kathleen just about to raise her sword, she hesitated seeing the boar was squeelling in pain.

She was not some soft hearted girl in her past life to care too much about the wild animals which are not realation to her, but she also did not go out of her way to kill any innocent animal, and this being her first time killing, it's obvious she hesitated because of her mindset.

Of course, if you hesitate before killing your enemy, you always have to pay a price.

The boar's twin tails suddenly moved and shot towards Kathleen while she was still in her hesitating state. Her eyes widened as she noticed the attacks coming towards her, she wanted to dodge but she know it's impossible in such a short time as one of those tails will definitely strike her even if she moved aside.

Judging by their trajectory, they might hit her head or her neck leading her to have a fatal injury. She brought down the Sword which she raised into air to cut the boar, the sword struck the first one and bounced it back, but the second one was just about to hit her face.

"Move!"

However, before it touched her, she felt a kick on her shoulder with a great force which sent her flying.

Ahhh~

Kathleen who was in the air, heard Sophie's scream and she understood what just happened. She fell on the ground and looked around only to find Sophie on the ground. She was holding her right leg with her hands while her face was contorted in pian.

Since Sophie kicked her shoulder, she automatically got struck by the tail which was heading towards Kathleen.

"You." Kathleen felt anger rising in her chest as she turned towards the boar which was stumbling unsteadily on the ground because of blood loss.

However, rather than pity or hesitation, her eyes showed in anger as her needle like pupils contracted, standing up she throw away the sword in her hand and pointed her hands towards the boar with her palms wide open.

Suddenly, Dark energy started to leak out from her body.

Black coloured tendrils started coming out from her hands as they headed towards the wild boar in a rapid speed.

Not giving it any chance to escape, they directly dug through it's skin and entered it's body as they pinned it down on the ground, it didn't survive more than ten seconds and died with numerous holes in it's body.
