Confrontation

"Damn it! I-I should focus on my surroundings, I should look away." Sophie mumbled under her breath as her gaze shifted towards the place where the colour changing fruit's tree was located.

Kathleen opened her eyes as she felt the mana rushing through her veins, she felt like she alone can defeat the wild boar. However, knowing that these thoughts or nothing more than some euphoric thoughts which will lead her to the doom, she just cleared them out her mind.

She may be able to fight enemies higher rank than her in the future when she have the appropriate techniques for that, but for now, she can only fight someone who is a single minor level above her.

After all, she was not the mc who can fight across levels just by having some supportive techniques from the old ancestor of the Alstrain family.

Of course, she also can't fight someone who is one minor level above her without a reason. Darkness, Light, Space, Time, such elements are few of the many major elements that can overpower the normal elemental mages.

She also has the dragon sword dance, a sword technique that passed down to her by Duke Oliver that can overpower most of the elemental mages with it's Swift moments. As long as she can train and improve herself more in these techniques, she may also able to do what mc was capable of.

She stood up from her place and looked around to find Sophie, she didn't have to look much as a figure landed infront of her body. Sophie just jumped down from the tree, her cheeks have a palm mark on them as though someone slapped her.

Kathleen flashed a small smile like a little girl who just played with her favorite toy. After all, she was currently doing all the things that she wanted to do when she was on the earth, but seeing Sophie's cheeks she suddenly frowned.

"What happened to your cheeks?"

"N-Nothing, a mosquito annoyed me so I slapped it, but I missed and slapped my own face." She replied with a stern face not giving any expression.

'Then why did she have that mark on another side of her cheek? Anyway, just forget it.'

"Well, it's already late, let's go and Complete our missions. Wait, before going their we should move with a plan." Kathleen commented as her brain started to think about how boars usually act.

With the little bits of knowledge she had about animals from the earth, she know a normal boar would usually run away if they saw any human, but if it was in a panic, it will definitely attack anyone who was present inform it's eyes,

This time it was also guarding it's own food which means, there was a high chance the boar will fight to the death.

Then again, they have an advantage as the boar was already injured and also knowing it was a magical beast but not a normal beast, she have to think of a plan that will make things easier for them. After a few minutes, Kathleen told her plan to Sophie as they both headed towards the tree's location.

Under the colour changing fruits tree, the wild boar was roaming around trying to find a way to bring down the fruits from the tree.

Although it didn't have high intelligence like a humans, the boar still had a natural animal instincts. The normal way would be to directly bring down the tree by attacking it since the boar can't climb the narrow trunk anyway.

Just as the boar was pondering these, it sensed a great danger from it's back. The boar's hair stood on it's end indicating that a life threatening attack was was coming on it's way.

Without a single second late, the boar moved it's legs as it sprinted forward. Just as it escaped from the spot, a slash which was created with dark flames suddenly passed through that spot, the attack hit the tree's trunk and it sliced through it like a butter.

The tree which was almost fifteen meters high, came down slowly and landed on the ground with a boom sound. However, a weird magic circle appeared before it just touched the ground and slowed it down as to not damage the fruits.

Kathleen walked and stood beside the tree, blocking the way towards the tree with a sword in her hand.

"Tsk, the sneak attack was failed. However, it did serve its purpose." She said as she looked the boar stopping after running a few metres away.

After boar saw the huge fruits which are attached to the tree and laying on the ground. But as it saw a human was guarding the tree, it became furious, it believed the tree's fruits belongs to it and now someone is stealing them from it.

After giving a grunting sound, it sprinted forward with it's one meter long body, it has two spiky tails which can grow in length and move around easily.

Kathleen also moved forward with her sword to attack the boar from the forward.

As the boar and Kathleen started their confrontation, a shadow suddenly appeared where the colour changing fruits are laying.

It was Sophie, she inherited her mother's shadow element rather than sol family water element. This was also one of the reasons that's she was not eligible for becoming the patriarch.

As Kathleen planned, she quickly started to harvest the colour changing fruits, they are at the same size as a jack fruit and there are total of a six of them.

She quickly harvested them and disappeared into shadow, she know Kathleen can't hold back the wild boar much longers, so she wanted to hide and help her from the shadows.

Although they both could run away since they already completed their mission. She know it was really hard. While she Maybe able to escape because of her shadow element, there is no way Kathleen could run as fast as a wild boar. All they needed is a single moment of distraction, to escape or just directly kill the wild boar.
