Evander's mother said, "Okay, it's settled then." She whispered something in her husband's ear, and he nodded.
She then turned to Evander and said, "Ev, we've decided that you should rest here. If it's really not okay, then you can rest later at home."
Meanwhile, Lucian was walking towards the school hall, lost in thought. What if I go to America? Would anyone notice? Hmm, I would have to ask Mom for money. She would probably ask many questions... Wait, I have my spare money. Maybe I can use some of it to buy a trip to America. But first, I have to find a way to leave the school without being seen.
As he pondered his plan, he heard a singing voice. Intrigued, he followed the sound into a classroom. Inside, he saw a fairy singing:
"Shadowcrest, a school for wizards and witches, Shadowcrest, Shadowcrest."
The fairy noticed Lucian and said, "Oh hey!"
Lucian replied, "Hey."
The fairy remarked, "Hm, weird. Students mostly don't come here. Wait, are you a student?" She asked excitedly.
Lucian nodded. "Yes, I am a student here."
The fairy flew around in happiness. "Wow! I-I never saw a student before!" She was so excited to see and talk to someone. "What are you doing here?"
Lucian explained, "Oh, well, I heard you singing."
"Ohhh, that sounds logical," the fairy responded, still excited. "How long have you been here?" Lucian asked.
"I've been here about 600 years, and you are the first student I've seen in all that time."
Lucian seemed quite happy about this and wondered why nobody else came to this place. The fairy then said, "Wait, stand still." She scanned him with her fairy eyes and said, "You plan to go to America?"
Lucian, surprised, asked, "How-how do you know that?"
The fairy explained, "If I scan someone, I can see their regrets, their lonely decisions, or sometimes... well, everything." She then looked confused. "Why do you want to go to America?"
Lucian answered, "Nobody really cares about me, so nobody would miss me even if I decide to go. They wouldn't even notice if I was gone."
The fairy looked sad. "But what about your parents?"
Lucian replied, "All they care about is how to be loyal to the Frost family! They want me to study hard, and I never get any rest for myself."
Lucian continued, "Oh, Lucian, Evander got into the same school as you. Amazing, right? 'Oh, Lucian, why can't you be more like your cousin Evander?'"
He sighed. "You know, yesterday I was wounded too, and when I was going to the healer's room, they said, 'It's not that bad. Your cousin lost more blood.' It's like everyone only cares about him! He is the light of everyone's eyes, and what am I? I am just his useless shadow."
Lucian tried to hold back his tears and said, "It's better if I leave. Maybe people in America will care about me. Who knows?"
The fairy, concerned, said, "Wait, what if we tell the teachers to help you? Wouldn't they give more attention to you then?"
Lucian shook his head, disheartened. "I already tried that! They didn't even notice me when I talked."
The fairy then said, "Well, I am talking to you."
Lucian replied, "That is right..."
The fairy continued, "And you told me everything about yourself."
Lucian nodded, "That is also right."
The fairy then said, "So, let's say this: we're going to talk a lot and then become friends!" She said this excitedly.
Lucian started to calm down a little and said, still in a shaky voice, "That is a good plan."
The fairy flew around the room in excitement and said happily, "I have a new friend! I have a new friend!" Her actions made Lucian laugh.
She turned to him and said happily, "Yes, that happy face is what we want to see! No more crying, okay?"
Lucian laughed and said, "Okay."
Meanwhile, in the healer's room, Felix was just lying in his bed when he realized, "Hey guys, I haven't seen Lucian for a long time."
Athena then said, "You are right. Since Frost is here, I don't see him."
Rowan said, "Guys..."
Felix interrupted, "I'm going to search for him. I haven't seen him for so long!"
Athena said in a teasing way, "You are really excited to see him again, aren't you?"
Felix said, "No! It's just—"
Before he could finish his sentence, Rowan said in a teasing tone, "It's just that you are worried about him, huh?"
Felix became red and said, "You know what? I'll search for him myself!" He got up from his healer bed and walked away.
Athena said, "Did we go a little too far?"
Flint nodded and said, "I think so."
Athena sighed, and then Rowan said, "I didn't mean to make him mad."
Athena replied, "Me neither."
Meanwhile, with Lucian, he suddenly started crying. The fairy said, "Oh no, not again!" She tried to cheer him up, but it didn't work.
As for Felix, he got lost but heard a tiny voice talking and someone crying. It was almost the same cry he heard Lucian make that day. He opened the door and saw Lucian crying with a fairy trying to comfort him. Lucian buried his head under his arm, but Felix walked towards him and sat down. Lucian looked up and saw Felix, but he didn't seem to care anymore. Felix hugged him, and Lucian started to cry in his arms. Eventually, Lucian calmed down and fell asleep on Felix's legs.
The fairy said, "Um, I'm sorry if this is a bad moment, but you look like someone I saw before. What is your name?"
Felix answered, "Well, I am uh, Felix Ravenwood."
The fairy wanted to say something but remembered Lucian's loneliness and didn't want to make him feel more useless than he already felt. So, she shut her mouth and said nothing.
Felix was also tired and fell asleep. Then, the fairy remarked, "He just looks like his father," and she chuckled a little. "And has his mother's personality. Wait, you know, he's got both his mother and father's personality. A Ravenwood in the school, amazing."
