what caused the fight (3)

"what do you mean Hunter? Why would I want you and drayce to fight?" I asked innocently.

Hunter sighed heavily.

"Ariana, I am in love you. I've always loved you since the day I set my eyes on you".

My mouth was left wide open till I remembered to shut it up .

I was shocked beyond measure. I mean Hunter always flirted me but it was normal since he was big time player but I didn't think I was in love with me!

"You don't mean what you are saying right?" I asked trying to bring myself to understand the language he just spoke.

"I've never been serious about any girl in my life. Since the first day you came to the school, I've always told my friends that I liked you and I was going to ask you out. Drayce was fully aware of this but he still went behind my back to hook up with you.. I mean.. what kind of friend will do such a thing?!

If he liked you, he should have told me first. It wasn't nice to hear from other people that the girl you am in love with is kissing my best friend".

I thought about what he said and he was kind of right.

It was just like me and Ricky.

Ricky was in love with Drayce but I hooked up with him.

The only difference here is that, Ricky and I understood each other's feelings so we didn't fight.

"Hunter , I know what Drayce did was wrong but you should know better than to fight with your best friend over a stranger..."

"You are not a stranger Ariana"

"But we just met a couple of months ago. But Drayce, he has been your friend for as long as you can remember. Why would you want to throw that away because of me?

Besides I should be the one making the decision here not you or Drayce.

I can choose who I would want to be with. So, if you guys fight all day because of me and I don't like either of you , won't your friendship just end for nothing?"

Hunter nodded solemnly.

"So, will you promise to make things right with Drayce when he comes back?" I asked with high hopes.

"I promise. But you have to tell me.. who do you really want to be with? Me? or Drayce ?"

I was shocked. I didn't expect him to bring this up now.

I searched my heart.

I only considered Hunter as a friend. I was never attracted to him In any way. But, Drayce.. my heart races everytime I see him. I have always been attracted to him.. dark, handsome and elegant .

"Hunter... I-I- I am sorry. I just.. I only see you as a fri-"

Hunter interrupted me.

"You don't have to say it. I understand. You like Drayce.

I'll accept that but I want you to do something for me.

Even though I can't have you can I at least hug you and give you a kiss? One I'll remember forever since I can't have you?"

Hunter asked pleadingly.

I looked into his eyes and I saw sincerity pouring out of them .

I don't know what I was thinking but I slowly nodded.

A small smile graced Hunter's sad face and he pulled me into a very tight hug.

I could literally feel the love pouring out of that single action.

I could feel his heart racing against mine.

After a few minutes,he finally let go of me.

But his hand were still on my shoulders.

He looked into my eyes as if asking for permission and I nodded slowly.

His lips descended on mine. It wasn't intense and passionate like Drayce's.

But it was warm and gentle.

He grabbed neck to pull me closer while his other hand caressed my long hair lovingly.

His kiss was full of longing but finally he stopped.

He held my hands tightly unwilling to let go.

He sighed heavily, kissed my cheeks and left the class quickly.

I felt bad for Hunter but I don't love him that was the sad truth.

I looked around the class and wondered where Ricky was and why there was no teacher in the class.

Maybe they were having one of those their emergency meetings.

So, I decided to go look for Ricky and maybe break the spell Mr Davis cast on her.

I stood up and walked towards the door.

Before my hand could reach the handle, the door opened and Ricky walked in.

"Oh my God! Ricky where have you been?"

Ricky looked a bit dazed so I led her to her seat and gave her some water to drink.

"I honestly don't know Ariana. I felt like I have been sleep walking. What happened to me?"

I contemplated in my mind. Should I tell Ricky all the strange things that have been happening or just lie to her?

But come to think of it , I need someone to help me out with my investigations.

Who is better if not Ricky and Drayce?

"Ricky, there is something important I need to tell you but not in class tho. Come to my house and I will explain everything to you".

Ricky simply nodded and said nothing else.

I began to think. It seems like Mr Davis hypnotized Ricky into leaving the office and Drayce once told me he could hypnotize people. Does it mean Drayce and Mr Davis have the same power?

I mean even their eye colour changes to gold when they use their powers. But Drayce definitely doesn't have vampire teeth unless he has it but I haven't seen it yet.

Is Mr Davis a vampire? I mean he was literally trying to suck my blood but vampires can't stay in the sun and they usually look pale. Mr Davis doesn't look pale neither does he burn when exposed to the sun, so what is he?

I can't wait for Drayce to resume school, only him alone will have the answers to my questions .
