The car ride back to the palace was filled with so much tension.Nikolas and Alexander are sitting at the back seat while Xaitar drives them with like an expert to their destination.

Nikolas's face was turned to the window looking out on the passing landscape. The rolling hills and lush forests blurred together, a green and brown haze mixture.

Alexander watched him, his eyes searching for any sign of forgiveness but Nikolas's expression remained unreadable.

"Are you okay?" Alexander asked with tender.

Nikolas didn't respond. He simply continued staring out the window. He doesn't want to cry and fall back into an ungrateful person hands.

The silence between them grew more heavy with an unresolved issue.

Alexander knew he needed to break the ice but the words were stuck in his throat. He doesn't know where to start from and he knows that Nikolas is boiling with the way the mate bond is pulling.
