Fated Story System (paused)

______ Paused for the moment... Due to my need to edit my story... I have paused this story... And it might be paused for a bit until I can get a solid schedule made for myself... If you have miraculously found this story, I am 1) surprised, and 2) flabbergasted... since I have paused this one for like 2 months... But you can try and read it if you wish. It might be slightly bland and with some boring text... but after edits it should be better, flow better. Also the last chapter I uploaded I think I added a semi end for the moment, but its not going to be the actual end of the story... ______ What if you were to die in the next moment? What if death gave you a new chance as long as it was an interesting story? Join Lucras in his adventure with the system that's sole purpose is to make his life and story more….Interesting. And his journey to find out that the worlds outside aren’t so simple. __________________ This story is set in the cursed universe, where multiple other books tell tales of adventure. These books characters will interact with one another and it will be an neat experience seeing two different sides. Though you are not forced to read the others as these books are good all by themselves, not requiring information from another one of the books. Cover art by @etqtay on Instagram.

Windros Spiders

Returning silently back to the cave, Lucras placed down the ice deer corpse on the cool cave floor. Seeing again that his fire was out, Lucras though to himself about starting it again, but decided that he would only get the sticks he dropped since it was dangerous to be outside. A few minutes later, Lucras returned with the small pile of sticks he originally dropped.

Something inside of him felt strange when he was around the deer corpse. He felt stronger, he felt better, he felt safer. It was a strange sort of confidence that he was unused to. Chalking it up to him getting more used to the world again, and that maybe he likes blood. Deciding that he should sleep it off, as he was getting tired of everything happening.

But before he could finally lay down, with his head on the deceased deer, he heard pings in his head. Deciding to check his journal, he found that it was glowing again.

[[Fate Line Received : Blood of beasts]]

[[Preparing measures]]

[[Obtaining materials, Please wait]]

As he saw that last line, the book started to float as he found the deer blood start to leave the corpse. Gradually he began to feel different, as he felt his injuries again, and the stress that he believed that he would never see again. He felt like everything around him was spiraling out of control before his very eyes, as he rushed forward to stop whatever the book was doing. Taking his sword he swong at the cursed book to make it stop whatever it was doing.

But before his righteous sword could reach the evil book, he found himself stop. Looking down, he found glittering golden chains surround him and completely contained his entire body. It was then that he heard a voice in his mind, [Calm down you, before I have to hurt you]. Anger surged inside of him as he struggled inside of the chains that trapped his body. He felt his head scream as Ava stole the blood, feeling like he was drowning in something.

As he struggled, Ava decided to be kind and speed up the process and used a bit of her ability. Symbols seemed to lift off the cover as they quickly enveloped the deer before in front of Lucras widen eyes and screams, it disappeared.

At that moment, Lucras felt something inside of him collapses as he immediately passed out. In a now quiet cave, a sigh rang out from a slowly descending book. Symbols that floated around a certain part of the cave returned back to the book, before the book floated itself back to a bag on the ground.

Silence filled the cave before the glowing chain cocoon slowly deposited Lucras on his leaf bed, before promptly disappearing. Laying on that bed, Lucras had no dream, just the perpetual feeling of anxiety rushing through him. Had he lost something important? Why was it here? He wondered in his sleep.

As the night passed beast passed the cave, but the aura of blood and something they couldn't identify lingered in the air around the cave. It made them directly avoid the cave in its entirety as they didn't want to quickly die to whatever is in there. That something was telling there instinct that, while I am weak now, I will end you and they preferred to stay alive for now.

Finally morning light filled the cave again, as Lucras woke up on his tenth day of being in this stupid forest. As morning light hit his Crimson eyes, and as the weird feelings dream faded away, he slowly started to remember what happened yesterday. Remembering that weird feeling, the addiction of that strange blood, he quietly thanked Ava for removing it.

But to quickly ruin his mood he heard her voice in his head, [Well I have no clue how someone as stupid as you got it, but you apparently have a major fate in you… Why does it have to be you? How could it be you, you are so stupid as you get caught up in your own feelings]

"I don't know what you are talking about! Also I am not dumb, I am normal. You are just causing to many problems for me!" Lucras quickly fired back. Continuing he asked, "And what about this major fate thing? I don't remember anything about it!"

Replying to his question, Ava explained [You don't need to worry about it, Its for at a later point in time. And before you go, make sure to kill more monsters as you only have twenty days left here and ninety-five more monsters to kill. Enjoy!]

Realizing that he only had about two-thirds of his time left, and so many more monsters to kill, Lucras quickly headed out. But before he left, he realized that the deer corpse was gone, and decided to ask, 'Where did the deer corpse go?'

Thankfully Ava replied, but her response consisted of unuseful information consisting of [You don't need to know right now]. A little angry at this non-response response, he decided to take it out on some monsters in the surrounding forest.

Stepping into the forest, which was now dangerous again thanks to there being monsters in it. But as he stepped out of his cave, he found something interesting about the trees in front of him. They were currently filled with tons of webs.

Interested in his new neighbor, Lucras decided to investigate. As he stepped closer he felt the wind pick up and the trees started to shake. Hearing something moving forward toward him, Lucras quickly prepared himself as he raised his sword.

Trees rustled for a solid few minutes before calming down, the dropping from the trees were around 20 small green colored spiders. The seemed to glide gracefully toward the ground before softly landing on the ground. Preparing for battle he quickly inspected the green spiders, that were about the side of golden retrievers.

{{Windros Spider

Description: A commonly occurring frightening spider that likes to ride on the wind, its mainly looks for prey with its sense of smell because of its poor sight.}}

Seeing as it has poor eyesight, Lucras quickly raced back into his cave to find something to hopefully confuse the spiders. As he raced into his cave, the spiders who had smelled him followed toward the rapidly moving object as they hunted.

Taking some small stones that were on the side of the cave, he raced deep into the cave while dropping stones every so often so that he could find his way back. As it became darker and darker, Lucras decided to try using mana sight to look around. Eventually after he could no longer see his hands without mana sight, he stopped and placed the rest of the stones on the ground.

He had never battled in the dark, and this would be his first time fighting so many enemies. Taking a deep breath, he calmed himself as he looked at himself in mana sight. Now that it was dark, he could see himself surrounded by a dark red sand, which he chalked up to his recent episode with the red ice deer thing. After a minute of waiting, he finally saw them again, or the green masses that make up there bodies at least.

Moving around the cave quickly to try and move his smell around the cave and stop the spiders from being able to tell where he was. Thinking about the information he got from his scan, he realized that these spiders are probably quick ambush predators that jump out at people. Preparing for that, Lucras feeling slightly confident moved closer to slash at the legs of the spiders. Believing he had the element of surprise, he slashed forward before quickly jumping back again, while he heard a shriek from the spider who he apparently took off not only one of its legs, but 3.

Seeing as they had a weaker defense than other monsters, Lucras while looking at the spiders confused movements went in closer to slash at the spiders. Racing into the mass of spiders, he slashed as much as possible, while the spiders finally smelling something closer jumped at his shadow.

After his first few passes, reducing his spider count to around ten spiders left being alive, he decided to become even more confident in his attempts and stopped running. Taking slashes forward toward green sand masses, he sliced and sliced as he started to feel good in his motions. It felt like a game again, just slice at the green balls that where moving randomly.

Deciding to add mana into his sword after realizing that he wasn't getting stronger from the monsters, he saw his blade light up slightly. Now the only problem with this was the spiders could also see his blade light up, and they all jumped towards the now glowing sword. Terrified as he saw around six jumping green sand balls coming towards him, Lucras decided to use half his mana in his [Mana Slice], as he struck all of the green masses.

All Lucras heard from this instance was a sharp sound before, he heard blobs hit the ground. Trying not to imagine the scene of organs again, Lucras moved towards the entrance before he saw a small amount of light again. As he walked, he felt the slight move of warm mana inside of him again, as it went into his cells. And while he walked, he realized that the same had happened with the deer too, so he decided to check his stats.
