Saint Gaia

Noah or now Kayle wakes up from a long night and his gaze fell on the window and the dreamy sky and sun, it's been already a whole month and he had found a lot about this new world, to start this world or at least this kingdom is ruled by a monarchy and not a government, so there isn't democracy for all Kayle knows, then he found out he belongs to a low noble house, which made him quite happy knowing he wasn't at a poor or commoner family which he believed was the worst case scenario in this kind of society, then his biggest discovery…mana! Kayle overheard a conversation between Arthur and Joel about someone being able to see mana in the town nerar by, maybe mana in this world had another meaning but in Noah's world was the source of all magic, in his old world magic was extinguished around two thousand years before Noah was born, so to hear that this new world still held magic was so exciting and terrifying, Noah was quite a history nerd back in his world, so he had read a lot of scary things about magic, like it almost killed all humans in a ritual to enter another world…a chill ran down his spine at the thought of that, but he knew that magic was only reserved to a 0.0001% of people at least in his old world, he didn't knew how powerful nor common were people with the power of doing magic in this world, maybe it wasn't as bad and powerful as in his old world, or maybe they have not reach that point yet…Kayle pushed all his thoughts about magic aside as his now mother Melisa walked into the room.

-Goodmorning my precious baby-Melina picked her up with a cheerful smile, Kayle cringed a bit as Melina said such words, he then notice that her mother seems kind of more excited and joyful than normally, then as he wonders why is that, his father Arthur walks into the room and rested his hand on Melina's shoulder

-Hey love, it's almost time for the baptism so get Kayle ready to go to the capital-Arthur then leaves to do something after Melina gives him a nod.

'Wait, will I get a baptism today!? I'm not ready, what does it even mean in this world? to what religion will i be introduced to?'

Kayle knew he needed more information, but he will have to wait as now he has a bigger problem…his mother, Melisa placed kayle in his crib and picked some…baby pink dresses! Kayle panicked as he saw those feminine clothes, he wasn't going to wear something so embarrassing…right? As his mother wondered what to put her precious daughter in, Kayle tried to hide somewhere in his crib unfortunately all his efforts to escape his cell called crib where useless as his mother picks him up and places him in the table near the crib

-don't move okay?-Melina said as she starts to dress Kayle in a cute and feminine pink dress, he tried to free himself from his mother grasp but fails miserably now his manhood was stripped from him, after that nightmare was done Melina brought him outside for the first time, the house was a lot bigger than he thought it would be, and then there was an even bigger garden with beautiful flowers and a green grass, there was a young maid he never saw, maybe a new one, she had a red blood hair and was around 10 years old, so young Kayle thought, maybe her parents sold them? anyways that wasn't what he focused the most, it was her eyes…they were so…unique, her left eye had a beautiful golden yellow and her right eye had an ocean deepless blue, her eyes…Kayle could only watch in awe at the maid's eyes as she was taking care of the garden, before he knew it he was inside an old fashioned car.

'So the first industrial revolution has already happened uh?' Kayle knew this was important to know more about this new world, as his parents and joel were talking about useless things like food or about work, which Kayle was obviously not interested in, he stared at the sky through the window wondering what the capital would be like, would it have a castle? maybe not, it's after the first industrial revolution, so he doubted it would have so old fashioned defenses, or maybe they did, there was magic after all, why would there be any need to improve the technology if they already had one of the biggest source powers the earth had? there was only one way to find out, and it was with his own two little eyes, he couldn't wait to see the church either, after all it would be his first time seeing in person a religious monument something that in his old world would be only possible in pictures of forbidden books, most of them were burned…the world peace federation made it clear that any religious or philosophy book would be confiscated by the peacekeepers, they where a scary bunch, Kayle frowned at the thought of those bastards, in fact, he was kind of glad that in this new world religion was still a thing, maybe this way he would know why it was prohibited in his old world, or find something far more terrifying.

On his way to the capital he learned a lot, like the capital was named after Saint Gaia. She was a beautiful woman that made the Rose empire a beautiful green land instead of the wasteland that was before.

'Wow, so that kind of magic exists uh? i guess i shouldn't be surprised after all, its magic...'

Kayle thought as he kept recalling what he had learnt, the city was one of the most beautiful cities out there Joel claimed, Kayle also heard from her mother that the church was the most wonderful thing in the city, it was situated in the middle of the capital that was divided in four sections, the green parks, the residential area, the commercial area where the emperor's palace was and the slums, he was quite shocked that the slums were such a big part of such city as the capital, Kayle also paid a lot of attention about what the baptism was about, he learned that when one did it you could obtain a blessing, with a blessing you could use one aspect of the three eyes of genesis, which were: the world's eyes, the eyes of arcana and the soul's eyes, Kayle didn't knew much more from the conversations inside the moving car, he guessed that the blessings were just a small piece of the power that the eyes of genesis held from the way his parents and Joel talked.

-Do you think Kayle will obtain a blessing?-Melina asked as she was looking down at her daughter with loving and caring eyes and a soft smile on her lips

-Kayle is our daughter, of course she will have one-Arthur said with confidence and pride, then Joel let out a small chuckle

-Let's not worry about that now, even if she did get a blessing we would have to wait until she is 10 to actually see if she has one, maybe she obtains one of the three eyes of genesis-Joel joked as he said the last part.

Now all three of them laughed as Kayle wondered about the science behind blessings, he decided to not think about it as his baby brain was starting to hurt from too much thinking, he really missed music, it made the long drives way shorter.

After a long drive, Kayle finally sees the entrance of the capital and his eyes light up as his gaze falls on the giant white wall with what appears to be soldiers or knights on the columns, it was a medieval style wall, the only thing different was the soldier's weapons and their clothing, each of the soldiers carried what appeared to be an assault rifle made from iron with a transparent sphere instead of a magazine, inside the sphere there was a kind of green liquid light, maybe it was mana or some type of ammunition, but it was clear that it was dangerous,

the driver lead them through the city, it was as beautiful if not more than how his mother described it, very far from the monotones cities back in his homeworld, there were green parks with beautiful trees and even the people were dressed elegantly, it truly lived up to its name, he didn't had the chance to see the slums, not that he wanted to, he already saw enough of those in the past.

When they reached the giant white and gray church all he could focus wasn't the size nor the architecture of the church but instead the statue of what he could guess Saint Gaia was, the first thing he noticed was the almost perfect doll face the statue had, it was a fragile yet imposing looking young women, then the second thing that catches his gaze is the mysterious runes on the women's limbs, he was sure that they meant something, he couldn't grasp on what though, Kayle focused next on what really is important, his baptism, he was obviously nervous, it felt kind of wrong for him to do it as he doesn't believe in any deity or anything like that for in his homeworld they taught him that religion only caused pain and wars, he pushed those thoughts aside as his eyes lock with what appeared to be the priest

-The church welcomes all of you, Miss Laplace, Arthur, Joel- the good looking priest bowed slightly at Kayle parents and at the doctor

'Is everyone here handsome or beautiful!?' Kayle scoffs as he tries to find something bad in the young priest's perfect looking face, he felt like the priest was hiding something, that his kind and polite smile was just a mask, he knew too well how wolfs always hid in sheep clothing, this world won't be any different, and the fact that he works for the church doesn't help either

-We are here for Kayle's baptism- Arthur said in a slightly cold tone, it seems he didn't liked the priest too much either, that cheered Kayle up a bit, he always liked it when he wasn't the only paranoid

-Yes i know, such a beautiful baby, i'm sure it will grow as beautiful and smart as her mother- The priest flashed a smile to Melina, fact that Kayle didn't like

'Is he flirting with my mother!? i'm sorry but she has a husband, you religious perfect looking bastard' Kayle shot a glare at the blonde priest, maybe the priest didn't catch what was Kayle thinking because he patted his head like he was a baby!

Then as Melina carried Kayle through the church he finds himself in awe at the architecture of the church, the world he was in didn't seem to be very technologic even if it has old fashioned cars and strange weapons, so Kayle wondered how they could build such divine church...with magic perhaps.

As they walk in what seems to be a chamber, a rather big one with a with a spherical roof covered in runes and paintings of what Kayle can guess are not human from their wings and divine appearance, the runes on the other hand were what intrigued him the most because to him, it seemed like a song, a beautiful and terrifying one in fact, because it was something unknown to him, Kayle knew it was a song, he felt it, but not who was singing it or for whom, was it about love? of hate? a nostalgic one? or something else? That was what left a bad taste in Kayle's mouth.

There was a giant arch in the middle of the chamber, a majestic and imposing one, made from what could be seen of an angelic white marble with touches of green, it is not free from the mysterious runes either, these were green too, perhaps because This chamber belonged to the church of "Erth", mother nature, it would make sense if so, what worried Kayle was that in the arch there seemed to be an invisible wall in it, one that seemed like a door to a much more unknown place, something that Kayle didn't like, was it going to be his baptism to pass through the middle of there? He just had to wait and see what happens.

The chamber suddenly went quiet and the young priest offered a polite smile before he glanced at Kayle

-Miss Laplace, i think it's time for you and the rest to leave the chamber and let me continue, you know how these things work- Joel and Arthur frowned but they reluctantly left the chamber, something that Kayle didn't like, was he going to be alone with this priest?

-Please take care of her Adam- Melina bows to the priest as she hands over her precious daughter before walking away following Joel and Arthur, Kayle was now all alone with the suspicious priest,

-I bet the gods have great plans for you Kayle, i'm sure your parents didn't gave you your name just because it was pretty, i mean who would give her daughter the name of an angel just because- The priest chuckled as he walks towards the arch,

'what is this weirdo talking about? What is even an angel? and gods? What do they want to do with me? is he delucional?'

Kayle tried to make sense with the little information he had but it was pointless now that he was now standing in front of the majestic arch in the priest's arms.

His eyes widen when he looks inside the arch, what before was an invisible wall was now a window to something he couldn't understand...
