33. Unusual Gathering Part 1

Arien woke from her dreamless sleep. The night's harrow as days moved unbridled to her plight. An heir from a prestigious fallen angel family she was. Hunted by her kin as was from factions known.

Angels took delight in her demise...

Devils followed in numbers...

The girl was all alone in this world filled with despair. But there always existed a silver lining to this broken reality. For her, it was a miracle and this miracle now stood before, her eying her inquisitively.

"Ainz, we should kill her," said the purple-haired girl casually munching on some apples. A skeletal being sat beside her, peeling the fruit in boredom, answered.

"As much as that would be safe, it's better to know what exactly was hunting her. But it seems our wait has finally met its end..."

Sakura taking out her weapon stood protectively before Ainz as she asked,

"What are you?" Eyeing her darker than black obsidian wings, the girl sitting beside the monster spoke.

Now, this was a great predicament on her part. Should she be truthful or will a lie suffice? Both of them could belong to any third faction that might want to end her existence. But then again, Arien could not run any more, for she had lost everything dear to her. A meaning to her existence violated and thrown from this world.

" My name...my name is Arien Nyrion, A fallen Angel."

"Fallen?" "Angel?" Asked the residents of this defiled church.

"Yes? I thought you both knew" She let out a breath unknowingly held to her mouth. 'Finally a reprieve from all those chases' With a little bit of energy she spoke,

"Fallen angels are angels that fell from grace by acting on their vices. They are also in a war with Angels and Devils to protect their race" Spoke in a voice filled in sadness. Reminiscing all those good times away from war with her family.

"Is that so. Then what purpose did you have before coming here?"

"I was chased. I am the last of my clan because our power they hunted us down. One by one until I was the last one alive. After running for my life, I saw this place filled with dark energy and thought to seek shelter here"

"Is that so..."

"...chuu" a noise alerted the family of two of the other resident of this secretive gathering.

The place they were was in deep underground in his dungeon, modified to look more like a high-class establishment except for the added benefits of the supernatural door. Entering the place without acknowledgement from its residents was impossible and only three individuals had access to it.

"Arturia, eavesdropping is very bad, you know. At least hide your ahoge next time before peaking through the door." face flushed, the girl proclaimed as the king of Britain made its approach.

"I was not hiding...there was an apparition!! Yes, an apparition running through the halls from the 6th floor belonging to the haunted house as you call it, and such as a king it was my duty to slay such evil before it got out to the kingdom." That's right both the individuals were never fully accustomed to taking others life that easily and so Ainz created a floor with a specific designation.

The floor is intended to simulate every horrific situation, a human can take. This was a small program for his daughter and his fellow king to build up courage as so to not falter against real danger.

But again a real-life situation is always different. For, after a certain time, calculative of their blood pressure and heart rate, the simulation would stop proportional to its safety net. This was what made sakura not even squirm when she drowned in the blood of her enemies.

Arthur spoke, "So, who's she?"

"A new resident, I suppose." Ainz looked at her to introduce herself once more.

"Ah, a fallen." Arturia nodded her head in understanding. Ainz deadpanned as he asked hiding his jest.

"Oh, you know them. As expected of the king of Camelot, truly you saw through her at the first sight, of this meeting. This fellow king is in awe of your great mind."

"Wow, Arturia that's awesome." Fist-bumping the air, said sakura reminding him of a certain doppelganger. Filled with praises to empty words and the star-struck eyes, made Arturia's mind overload as she meekly said.

"A..h. Its... nothing that great" Seeing her like that made the venture in the plains worth the effort. After such conquest, dragon or not. People began to think Arturia was a part deity, herself. Of course its no thanks to sakura, who drew her angelic form in a manner depicting some greek god and goddess. (A.N. I'm looking at you Atalanta).

But while he would like to praise her. He also heard how her new doujin business was raking in money from the dark side of this nation. Some also sold to highest bidder's from surrounding nations. It seems the countess and princesses from the House of Habsberg were smitten with the story inspired by a dubious reality.

' A king came before the dragon of origins speaking of words unknown in a wish to earn upon its trust. He petted the dragon, little by little opening its closed heart. The dragon's deep blue eyes pierced his heart as it awoke twisted desires towards the entity in front of the king. His hand slowly and unconsciously had its way of opening new wonders to the world. Like flowers, the king and dragon become one' The contents of the book was so pure that Ainz, the black-hearted overlord he was, might even shed a tear for the king's plight if however, the dragon was not modelled after him and the king after Arturia.

'Truly sakura is now a force to be reckoned with.' Ainz felt respect towards the girl he reared from childhood once more. Using every tactic to earn reputation and money even using his father to rake in the support of people as well as swindle the royalty, truly this day, Ainz was proud and again scared for his reputation. Emphasis on scared.

"Ainz" called the cross-dressing king.

"Hmm..."

"Because of the recent aggression caused by the skirmish in Riveria plains. A gathering of royalty was called upon by all neighbouring nations. I wanted to ask if you would join it alongside me?" Ainz wanted to decline wholeheartedly. After all, it was too much hassle. But again another part of his mind thought deeper of her words,'Is she not confident facing them alone?' however sacking that conclusion because of her astute reputation with the foreign, he concluded the results.

"It seems even this time calls my presence to the world. Very well, I shall attend this gathering and show them why I was revered with fear..."

"However then I shall also follow you as your only Archibishop."

Arturia eyed them leery of their actions. This would have made much more impact if an undead skeleton, ender of life was not in the middle of peeling apples and the archbishop of death did not have leftovers all over her face.

But anyways, another great adventure would soon follow...

Merlin POV:

Once again the seer took pleasure in his dreams. Today however the dream he had was inconspicuous at most.

The future had changed. Although it should mean good things in the end it was not.

In the middle of a forest, he laid visage at a monster burning village after villages then another, a serpentine being with a maw large enough to engulf even the largest of buildings in this time. Later, a portal spewing these monster's piqued his interest. But no matter how much he tried to know only images of these events made itself known. Standing as a challenge to the seer.

The vision shifted once more in front of a grand battle between entities he knew close to the underworld. A dark skeletal being making itself known, stood in front of an entity closer to an amalgamation of evil.

Arturia using Excalibur as her crutch was limping towards the battlefield once more. The situation was closer to the end laid before his eyes.

"Ex-calibur..." With the final echo, the light seared the monster before the two kings, providing hope of an end but before that would happen so, a spear filled with unholy energy ripped through her heart.

Finally, Reigning silence to this battle.

Tears filled his eyes. But, before he could close them in disappointment, a change happened once more as the sun fell from the skies.

The shock of such an event was enough to wake him from his dreams to ponder on his thoughts of the future and this upcoming plight.
