Hong Liu breath heavily as she looks at Dong Hai, his snowy white hair was drenched in blood and they both draw out their swords at the same time. The beast falls on the ground with a thud, shaking the ground beneath it. The red beast was dead. Hong Liu was still in shock as she looks at the beast whose laid down dead body was double her size. Angry dark cloud cast over the garden stealing the golden light again and a then cold wind picked up but Hong Liu couldn't make herself move, the sharp rain hit them both with a storm and Hong Liu look at Dong Hai.
"Are you alright?" She asked over the noise of the rain.
He nodded, this time he looking at her not through her like before, with a neutral expression. It lessens her heartache that he had no harshness or indifference in his eyes. The blood on them got washed over bit by bit by the rain, clouds angry growl didn't stop the heavens were flashed furious lightning as they just looked at each other.
"Do you know how scared I was? Why did you not just let me get you the pearl? You knew I could do it, I have told you," She asked, sadden as he just stares at her silently.
"Why do you insist on this? Now you will still suffer retribution, I would have helped you even...even if you don't like me back, I wouldn't have asked you anything in return," She sniffles and he still said nothing. His black stone eyes seem to have a different kind of storm brewing in them. Silent tears streamed down her face with the rain, it was tears of relief. Dong Hai saw her red eyes and her efforts to keep it silent but her red lips were trembling. His fingertips reached for her cheeks while her eyes were down cast. His thump brush the soft edge of her cheek and warmth filled her in the cold rain as she looked up.
"It fine, let's go back," He said softly and that's all she could take. The sky got darker and the light strike with thunder as her sword slipped from her hand and she wrapped her arms around his torso, pressing her cheeks in his chest.
"I love you, I love you, I love you so much Dong Hai and I know you don't feel that way about me. I won't ask for anything from you ever. I promise you, but I just...I just want you to be safe and take good care of yourself. I promise you I would never come to you asking for anything in return I just want you to be safe," She cried silently and tighten her arms around him.
Dong Hai's lips parted slightly as he heard her and suck in a breath as his hand tighten on his sword. His other hand found its way to touch the back of Hong Liu's head making her close her eyes at the feeling and the sky thundered again.
"Let's go, we can't stay here longer," He murmured.
"No, no you have to promise me," She tighten arms further. Dong Hai close his eyes.
"Yes, I will try,"
She looks up at him with her big dark stilled filled with tears that were yet to fall.
"That's all I can give you," He said, a little bit of coldness return in his eyes but his hand brushed her shoulder. Hong Liu loosen his hold and nodded in agreement. Dong Hai grabbed her by the elbow and take her away from the angry rain to the same cave that is the entrance of the garden. Hong Liu looks down from the edge of the cave when they come out from the mouth and then step back scared.
"What is it?" Dong Hai asked.
"I am scared of heights," She said.
Dong Hai raise his eyebrow sarcastically clearly indicating ' but you can fly' Hong Liu noticed it.
"I got soaked in rain, butterflies can't fly in rain or in cold and I am scared of heights without my wings," She stated slightly annoyed wrapping her arms around herself. A flash of amusement passed in Dong Hai's eyes as she looks down flushed. Dong Hai dematerialize the sword in his hand and took out his blue robe, cleaning it off with magic. He wrapped it around Hong Liu, pulling her closer making her gasped in surprise and her big dark eyes got bigger as she looks up at him, he still wore a neutral expression. He pulled his robe over her head as well, she looks like she was drowning in blue velvet and then she yelped feeling the ground disappear underneath him. She looks at him in shock finding his face much closer realizing he had picked her up. She wraps her arms around his neck.
"I told you I am scared of heights!" She protested as it comes down to her, he plans to jump.
"Close your eyes,"
She didn't even have time to close her eyes as he jumped.
