Trying to use any available short route in order to get there fast, 20 minutes had passed and she was getting impatient. She leaned her head on the car window and drifted into deep thinking. She thought of how her mom and dad who were in an abusive relationship had two beautiful kids, she and her senior sister who was in medical school. She was everyone's favorite and she deserved to be because she was so positive, smart, adorable, passionate, loving, selfless, and helpful. Brenda was the least favorite child. Everyone except her sister hated her. They always made her feel like trash and belittled her, crushing her dreams all the time. To the extent that her parents decided to ignore her educational needs in other to meet her sister's.

She was always the liar and anything that happened was her fault. She hated her sister because she was the sweetest person she had ever come across but never stood up for her even when her parents were beating her for something she had not done. Her sister would keep mute and act like she did not know that Brenda was innocent but after she would do things like style her hair or play with her or buy her toys and other stuff. Brenda always hated that hypocrisy of hers.''If you are my sister and you love me, you'll stand up for me ''she thought. One night, her parents had gotten into a huge fight and her mom was left on the floor bleeding from her jaw after she had been severely beaten by her Dad.

Brenda was 15 and her sister was 21 at that time. She rushed to her sister's room to alarm her about her mother's situation . Both of them were now panicking and her sister shouted'' Brenda heat some hot water ''Brenda rushed to the kitchen, turned the gas on, and started to look for the matches. She searched everywhere but couldn't find the matches. She went downstairs and she realized that their neighbors had come to help and carried her mom into his car to be taken to the hospital. Brenda hugged her sister and joined the car leaving her sister at home to continue preparing for her final exams. She was glad that after that exams, her sister would be a doctor soon and life would get better for everybody.

She also felt like her sister was the cause of all her problems and if her parents did not have to pay all those expensive bills of a medical student, the family would have been way better . After her mom was treated at the ER, a psychologist suggested that Brenda and her Elderly sister go to foster parents so that they can be properly cared for and loved. Her mom refused saying, ''I have trained them for 20 plus years and we always know how to take care of each other. Instead of foster care throw that abusive monkey-looking son of a bitch in jail for all the harm he has caused his family ''.Later that day Brenda and her mom went home and were shocked AT what they saw. Ambulances, firefighters, and the police surrounded the house. Her mom started going towards them in confusion and asking ''What's going on here? Where's my baby? Where's my child''.

The whole house was burnt down into Ashes. She was standing at the side of her house staring at the only thing they could call theirs turned Into ashes. everything became slow and she saw the paramedics bringing out a body that was totally burnt. A black hand was exposed and she saw her sister's bracelet on the body .her breath seized for a minute and she began to choke .her sister was burnt to the ground. She has no sister, no light, no doctor her parents would hate her more. she felt numb in her legs and fell to the ground letting out a loud cry.
