Chapter 28

"Harry! how can you sit with the snakes."

"What is the problem for me to sit with Daphne and Tracey."

"They all are evil and supporters of you-know-who."

This time Hermione is the one to reply as she becomes quite close to Daphne and Astoria.

"Not all of them are evil and behave yourself, Daphne and Astoria are great to hang around and House Greengrass is an alliance with House Potter."

Ron wants to say something but stops after seeing Harry is pissed. He thinks that it is easy to make Harry do what he wants but today he saw Harry is angry at him for snakes. He stomps out from the compartment. After he went out, Ginny come inside and apologize on behalf of Ron.

"Sorry, Daphne and Tracey about how my brother behaves."

"You don't have to apologize, Ginny. It is not your fault."

After that Hermione invite Ginny to sit with them but she refused their offer as she just come to say hello, as she has a prior arrangement with her classmate.

There is no major event after that and they arrive at Hogwarts and part with Astoria as she is going to be with other 1st year students.

They all arrive at Great Hall and sit at their respective house table. Harry sat on the Gryffindor table, Hermione sit beside him and Neville in front of them. They started waiting for other students to settle down. Ron sat near Dean Thomas who is sitting quite far from Harry.

Harry looked towards the teacher's table and see Remus sitting there. Harry already knows that Dumbledore approaches Remus to become the new DADA professor. Remus smile when he sees that Harry is looking towards him.

When Harry looked towards another side of the table, he saw Snape is glaring towards Remus, which concerns Harry but waited as he can't do anything currently and decided to wait for some time to tell Remus to be careful of Snape.

After some time Professor McGonagall enter with 1st-year students and Dumbledore started to give the speech on how point system and house cup. When his speech is over, the sorting of the 1st year is begun. Professor McGonagall started calling down the name of the students and placing the sorting hat on their heads and after some time it is finally Astoria's name called.

"Greengrass, Astoria"

Harry saw Astoria going on the stage and a hat is placed on her head.

"Slytherin"

Hat yelled.

Harry is happy as Astoria is with her sister.

Astoria then stand up and walk towards Slytherin's table and sat next to her sister. When she looks towards Gryffindor's table, she saw that Harry is happy and not sad or angry as she sorted in Slytherin.

When the sorting is over, Dumbledore stand up and introduced Remus.

"I welcome Professor Remus Lupin, who is going to teach you Defence against Dark Arts."

Remus then stands up from his seat.

"I am Remus Lupin and as Headmaster said I am going to teach you DADA and I hope that you learn many things from my classes."

After that, the feast began, and at the end of the feast Professor McGongoll handed out the curriculum for this year.

Harry sees that the DADA class has to wait till Friday. The first class he has is Potions and after that, it is Transfiguration and Study of Ancient Runes.

Harry choose the Study of Ancient Runes, Arithmancy, and care of the magical creatures. Firstly he decided to choose Divination and muggle studies but when he talk with others they yelled at him. Sirius also tells him that his mother hates Divination from her core as she doesn't like prediction which has none to zero chances to come true.

Harry agrees with them that he is not going to take Divination and when he saw the muggle studies syllabus he practically lost interest in it.

This semester he is going to learn from some new Professors and some old ones.

Transfiguration - Professor McGonagall

Charms - Professor Flitwick

Potion - Professor Snape

History of Magic - Professor Binns

DADA - Professor Lupin

Astronomy - Professor Sinistra

Herbology - Professor Sprout

Arithmancy - Professor Vector

Study of Ancient Runes - Professor Babbling

Care of Magical Creatures - Professor Hagrid

Harry is quite shocked when he sees that Hagrid is going to teach them about Magical Creatures but again there is no one as knowledgeable as him in terms of magical creatures.

After that, they all went to their dorms. Harry wants to meet with others but ditch that idea after seeing that everybody is tired and decided to talk tomorrow.
