A Challenge From A God?

It's been a few days since Karna came to the future and today is the day when he will finally become a god.

For the past few days, he learned about the world in great detail.

Previously he was oblivious to the existence of other pantheons. Learning about their existence was a deal of great fascination for him.

He also learned that a new pantheon has appeared some three thousand years ago with a certain God of the Bible at its head and three different factions namely angels, devils, and fallen angels in it.

The Hindu Pantheon was currently the strongest in the universe because of the three gods, Brahma, the creator, Vishnu, the preserver, and Shiva, the destroyer. Only a few beings could have even a chance of fighting against them.

But luckily for other pantheons, they don't interfere much in worldly affairs.

"The world is a lot bigger than I expected. It's interesting."

Karna pondered as read the book about the history of the Biblical faction, more specifically about the Great War that took place between three factions which drained a lot of their powers even resulting in the annihilation of Biblical God and Four Great Satans.

"Oh! It's time, I should go."

Karna looked at the clock in his room. He found it very helpful that this small circular object can show them exact time, no need to measure time by looking at the sun. It's much more feasible.

He was wearing a beautiful dhoti which was adorned with jewels and a long piece of cloth draped over his upper body that did nothing to cover his beauty and some golden ornaments which he added to look presentable in front of the guests. He was ready for the ceremony beforehand.

He walked out of the guest room with confident steps.

Karna walked into the royal court where Indra and other gods were present.

Other than the Hindu gods he met a few days ago, he saw several unfamiliar faces that presumably belonged to the gods from different pantheons. While learning about the world, Karna memorized every god and immortal's appearance so he can identify them easily if he crosses paths with one.

The first one with an arrogant smirk on his face was a tall bulky man with blue hair, blue eyes, and two bison-like horns protruding from the sides of his head. He was wearing a black, white, and red robe. He was the Shinto God of Sea and Storms, Susanoo.

The next was the Norse God of Thunder, Thor Odinson. He was mentioned a lot in the books Karna was reading.

He was a handsome man with a tall and muscular body. He was wearing a helmet with two wings on side of it and a body suit armor with a red cape. He was holding his famous hammer, which Karna was curious about if he could lift or not.

The next one was twins which Karna instantly recognized.

The male was Apollo, the Greek god of the sun and archery. He was a man of exceptional beauty as it was one of his domains. He wore standard Greek clothing that covered his well-toned body. His blond hair had an unusual hue to it like that of sunlight.

Karna noticed that his eyes seem to be filled with lust and enmity as the Greek god observed his handsomeness which overshadowed his own. He had read that Apollo also took male lovers but he had no interest in men.

The female was Artemis, the Greek goddess of the moon and hunt. She was one of the three virgin goddesses among Olympians.

Artemis was an exceptionally beautiful young woman with round blue eyes and long white hair, with the bottom of her hair attached to a large circular ornament. She wore a long white dress with a red tip at the bottom, a silver necklace, and a pair of sandals.

Artemis' heart missed a beat as her eyes meet Karna's. It was of great surprise as something like that had never happened to her ever.

Karna smiled at her making her cheeks gain a slight tint of red before his eyes moved to other guests.

The next one was Azazel, Governor General of Fallen Angels.

He was a tall man appearing to be in his twenties with an average build, black hair, golden bangs, and a black goatee. He wore a V-neck maroon long coat with a wide, open high collar that opens up at the hem. The long coat also featured two black belts around the waist and four black bands on each arm, two of the bands at the wrist and the other two near the elbow. He wore grey slacks and brown shoes.

Next was another gorgeous woman with curly blonde hair, green eyes, and a voluptuous figure. Her face was so cute that any man who would look at it would get a desire to protect her at all costs.

She was Gabriel, a Seraph representing the Angel faction.

Gabriel smiled softly at Karna after sensing how pure and beautiful his soul was.

Karna now looked at the last guests that had come for the ceremony.

The leader of Four Great Satans of the Devil faction, Satan Lucifer, Sirzechs was accompanied by a little girl.

Sirzechs was a handsome man who seems to be in his early 20s. He had shoulder-length crimson hair and blue eyes. To Karna, he looked like a friendly yet very powerful man.

The little girl beside Satan gave the aura of a fiery girl with her extremely beautiful blood-red hair. Her face was exceptionally cute with blue-green eyes which seem to assess him with great focus.

Confused by her look, Karna smiled at her awkwardly which managed to bring her out of her trance. She blushed lightly because of the embarrassment of getting caught up but smugged proudly. Sirzechs patted her head because of how cute she looked.

Like Artemis and Gabriel who were one of the most beautiful women he had ever seen, Karna was sure that this little girl would grow up to be rivaling those two in terms of beauty.

These were all the guests that had come for the ceremony.

Karna then walked forward and saw his father who was not seated but standing near his seat.

"Greetings father!"

Karna said to his father and bowed slightly.

"Greetings Lord Indra!"

He then turned towards the throne of the King of Gods and greeted the King of Swarga.

"Welcome, Karna. Please sit at your father's place."

Indra said making Karna look at his father for permission.

"It's yours now."

Surya said with a smile.

Karna nodded and sat in his father's chair. He spent a moment to take a feel of this divine seat that was used by the God of the Sun for millions of years.

~Clap ~Clap

Karna's attention was pulled by Indra's claps followed by a beautiful woman arriving in the throne room with a tray in his hands. The tray had an expensive-looking glass made of gold that was emitting a divine aura.

As the woman stood in front of Karna, Indra stood up from his throne.

"Ladies and Gentlemen! It's a new dawn where this world will get a new god. This type of event happens quite rarely. And I thank all of you for attending!"

Indra addressed the attendants.

"Now, Karna please consume the Amrita that will grant you eternal life."

Indra said to Karna while gesturing to the female servant to give the glass to Karna.

Amrita was a drink that granted immortality. The Hindu Gods or Devas consumed this drink to become immortal and ascend into godhood.

Karna stood up to receive this divine drink respectfully. He grabbed the glass and lifted it in the air.

"I, Son of Surya, Karna wholeheartedly accept this responsibility given by my father, Lord Surya the sun god, Lord Indra, the king of gods, and all the other gods. I am grateful to them. I also thank and welcome all the guests who attended the ceremony. I hope I'll live up to your expectations."

Ending his short speech, Karna gulped the Amrita from the glass in an instant.

Karna found the taste of Amrita to be the most divine. Never in his entire life had he drunk something this tasty.

Meanwhile, Surya blessed Karna with the divinity of the sun.

As a result of the sun's divinity and Amrita, Karna's body started glowing brightly. None of those present in the hall could directly look at him or risk losing their eyes.

Karna could feel unimaginable power surging through his veins. It was a similar feeling when he first learned to invoke one of the strongest weapons, Brahmastra.

After a few moments, the light died down and Karna returned to its original state.

But now his presence was much more prevailing than it was before. Everyone could feel the unimaginable power coming from the new Sun God.

Other than Karna's power, his beauty and charisma had grown tenfold.

Only one word could come from everyone's mouth as they looked at him.

"Beautiful!"

None wanted to blink their eyes and miss this sight even for a fraction of a second.

"Ahem~"

Karna coughed to bring others out of their trance.

"Huh... Karna, my son, congratulations! You are now the sun god of the Hindu pantheon."

Surya said in an excited voice and hugged him which he reciprocated.

Soon other gods walked to him to congratulate him starting from Indra.

After a few gods, Apollo and Artemis came forward to congratulate the new god.

"Lord Karna, I am Artemis. You looked amazing while ascending to godhood."

Artemis complimented Karna.

"How could I not know the name of such a famous and beautiful goddess, Lady Artemis? And please, just refer to me as Karna, I'm still not used to honorifics from gods."

Karna replied making Artemis giggle a little from being called beautiful. Apollo was amazed at seeing her sister acting like this.

"Fine, but no lady, only Artemis."

She said making Karna nod his head.

"Lord Karna, I am Apollo, the god of the sun of the Greek pantheon."

Apollo interjected in the conversation and offered his hand for a handshake.

Karna looked at the fellow god of the sun who had more lust in his eyes than before. Such perverseness, especially from a man, made him uncomfortable.

"Greetings, Lord Apollo."

Instead of shaking his hand, Karna folded his hand and greeted him with namaste.

"Ah... as you know, we share the same divinity, that's why I request a duel with you, Lord Karna"

Apollo faked a smile as he pulled his hand back while dropping a bomb with his words.

Gabriel is the most likely followed by Rias. I would love to have Artemis too but I guess I prefer some other goddess from the Greek pantheon to be in harem.
