“Can we…drop by the cemetery? I…uhh want to see dad,” Vaughn hesitates with fidgeting fingers.
Adelaide looks at her daughter that has tears threatening to fall. “Sure, honey” From the driver’s seat, she gives her daughter a reassuring smile before retracting her gaze back at the road.
Her father’s grave was arranged by his company’s right hand man. Vaughn didn’t have a chance to attend the burial, for she was away from town at that time. Though there was never really a burial ceremony, she was hurt to the fact that she didn’t have a chance to see her father for the last time after that night he was shot.
Vaughn gazed at her father’s grave, staring at his picture. She bends and gets on her knees to get in level with the picture and the tombstone, letting a hand travel on the engraved lettering of her father’s name.
“Hey, dad. I came to- I mean we came to visit you. Rade and…mom came with me,” She sighs.
