Brian and the elders were blown away by the shockwaves generated by the giant's fall.
When Brian came to, what he saw made his eyes turn red.
A region of destruction appeared within the city, with millions of lives sniffed out just like that.
The city suddenly descended into chaos, as the sound of cries and fearful shouts filled the air.
Despite feeling like he was about to lose his mind, Brian forced himself to calm down as he took in the entire situation.
In but a split second after, he issued several commands.
"Send word immediately to my mother and sister.
"The mercenaries and troops should prioritize evacuating the city. Every single life counts.
"As for the members of the Enigma family, hear my command…" Brian paused as he gazed at the giant who remained on the spot after arriving, and the massive crack in space that suddenly appeared behind him.
Taking a deep breath, and despite knowing that he might regret it, Brian still commanded in a hoarse voice, his eyes filled with hatred:
"Attack the demons and buy enough time for the people to escape!" His voice spread out far into the distance.
Hearing his command, many people sprang into action. The elders showed faces of unwillingness, but they knew they had no choice but to reveal their family's power, if not, they might just meet their ends. Then, there would be no meaning in keeping their powers a secret.
A dark tide rapidly poured out from the massive crack in space behind the giant.
Skeletons emitting baleful auras filled the surroundings, their numbers quickly rising to millions. But that wasn't the end.
Humans soon emerged from the crack. However, the aura around them indicated that they weren't ordinary. While their numbers paled in comparison to the undead skeletons, the overall aura they released couldn't be compared to the latter.
Brian, who was about to attack the giant, or rather try to gain his attention, suddenly stopped when he saw the few corrupted who flew into the sky from the spatial crack.
'Peak Red-core mages!'
His pupils contracted when he saw these figures appear and stand silently behind the giant as if waiting for his command.
As the Goldsborn world was a lower world, the highest cultivation it allowed was a Red-core mage, and seeing several figures who had reached the peak of that realm appear among his enemies almost made him lose his calm for a second. Since the giants were natural warriors, he couldn't sense the cultivation of the giant before him. But seeing the peak red core corrupted mages appear respectful behind him, he knew that the situation was beyond his control.
Rather than foolishly sending himself to his death, Brian thought about using the entire force of his family present to resist the giant. He didn't dare to underestimate the race from which the Asura race descended.
While all these thoughts were going through his mind, the others had long since acted on his commands.
The powerful mages in the city and the mercenaries used their will to gather as many of the city's inhabitants as they could before flying into the sky away from the city.
As for the Enigma family elders, none of them had yet to act and, at most, supported the escape of the denizens. Since their young master had not moved, they also remained rooted on the spot. In the first place, they weren't willing to reveal the secrets they had been hiding for a millennium. While they felt their young master was their hope for their ascension, they knew he was still far from the limit of his potential and couldn't yet cause any major waves in the grand scheme.
While the Enigma Ancient family was still hesitating, the still-Giant suddenly moved.
Brian flinched when he saw the giant suddenly squat as the muscles in his thigh contracted.
A foreboding feeling engulfed him as he had an inkling of what was about to occur.
Unfortunately, before Brain could do anything, the unmoving undead suddenly sprang into action.
An army of millions suddenly rushed towards them from the front, while behind were the denizens who were still attempting to escape.
Altogether, the elders of the Enigma family barely reached a hundred, so some mages helping with the people's escape didn't have a choice but to step forward and resist the approaching tide of enemies.
Brian and the elders also didn't dare to dawdle any longer.
Brian's mana surged within him as he flew into the air. He hadn't even flown for long when his body experienced a drastic transformation.
His almost 2m body rapidly shrunk in size, and his bones twisted grotesquely as he transformed into a golden crow.
BOOM!
The speed of his body instantly accelerated, and in just a split second, five cone-like waves were left in his path, showing that he had reached mach-5.
With a speed five times faster than the speed of sound and with golden fire erupting from his body, Brian, in his golden crow form, turned into a golden beam that pierced a deep hole into the unending swarm of corrupted.
In but a short second, he was less than a hundred meters from the still-squatting giant.
However…
Golden blood suddenly flew into the air as Brian was abruptly stopped in his path. He felt as if he had rammed into an invisible wall, and if it wasn't for his formidable bloodline, he would have been squashed into meat paste considering the speed at which he was moving.
One of the flying corrupted behind the giant brought his raised hands down as the surrounding space fluctuated wildly.
At the same time, with the still squatting giant as the epicenter, spider web cracks formed on the ground before spreading in every direction.
A split second later, the sound barrier was forcefully broken as the giant disappeared from the spot.
"OH NO!"
The elders cried out in horror when they heard the resounding boom that came from the top of the mountain behind the city.
It suddenly dawned on them that the army of corrupted was never after the previous city. Instead, it seemed their family had been their goal all along.
With the teleportation formations within the city destroyed, and the nearest neighboring city eradicated, the Enigma Ancient city was essentially cut off from the outside world.
