A dejected sigh escaped tightly closed lips, and the sound waves dissipated throughout the vast and empty room. Pillars held up the high ceilings as thick as Baobab trees and tall as mountains. The walls were as wide as the ceilings were high, and both were covered in paintings and carvings of ferocious-looking creatures ripping each other apart.
From far, one could see that these paintings and carvings told a story, one of brutal war and conquest. The war spanned vast landscapes and enthralled thousands of races.
The eye-catching thing about this war was that the civilizations being destroyed, and the people fighting were doing it while underwater. The ones doing the fighting had fins, scales, gills, tentacles, shells, or mucus-covered skin.
