Her thoughts trailed off as she read the text.

Roan: I want you to attend the lunch meeting in my place

Nova blinked at the screen, wondering if she had set the language to something else because she had a difficult time understanding Roan.

Roan: I'll be late but I'll meet up with you there

Nova's hands trembled as she read his second text - when she said she wanted to do more at her job, she didn't mean this. She wasn't backing down though, all she had to do was stall until Roan showed up, she could do this!

Nova: Yes sir.

She put off her phone before she could cringe about her response, for some reason texting Roan was so difficult. She shot to her feet, she needed to get going right away if she wanted to get to the restaurant on time.
