Chapter Six

Emma's P.O.V

When I get home I was hoping to be able to eat my dinner by myself then go to bed.

However, when I go to grab the plate that was left for me Wyatt had seemed to make other plans. I go to put my plate in the microwave and I hear someone come up behind me.

"Let me see your arms," Wyatt says and I turn around, "What?"

"I know you heard me Emma, let me see them," he demands this time, "No Wyatt," I say and take my plate out and set it on the counter. "You showed your whole school, but you can't show me?" I leave my plate and try to go to the living room to get away from him.

"Emma, let me see your arms" he says following me, he grabs my arm and throws me down onto he couch.

"Wyatt stop!" I yell as he straddles my waist. I try and fight him off, "Quit, and let me see" he says trying to lift up my sweatshirt.

"Wyatt, get off me!" I yell and try and get him off me. "No! Why would you do something like this to yourself?" he asks trying to fight my hands.

"Wyatt please! Stop!" I yell again hoping someone would hear.

"Wyatt! Get off her!" Dad yells coming out of his office. He comes over and yanks Wyatt off me, "You didn't tell them why?" I ask sitting up on the couch.

"Boys, come with me," Dad says and I notice Kaleb and Seth standing at the bottom of the stairs.

He grabs Wyatt by his arm and pulls him into his office, Seth and Kaleb follow.

I run up the stairs and into my room, sitting with my back against the door.

I pull put my phone and text Matthew to make sure everything went good in the shower.

Anything happen? -Me

Nah, everyone had left so I was alone -Matty my love

There's a soft knock on my door, "Emma, it's Mom. Can I come in? I brought your dinner."

I stand up and open the door, my mom stands there holding my plate, her blue hair pulled up in a bun and her big glasses falling slightly.

I move to the side and she comes in setting the plate on my nightstand as she sits on my bed.

"Did he not tell them?" I ask shutting the door, she let's out a sigh, "He told them that you've been burning yourself but not why."

"Did he tell you?" I turn to face her, she nods. "I'm so sorry Emma," I run into her now open arms and hug her.

"I'm sorry for not telling you," I whisper as tears fall onto her shoulder. "Don't be sorry honey, me and your dad were talking and we think maybe you should start going to therapy." she says and pets my hair.

"No! Please, I don't want to talk to a stranger about this stuff," I cry harder. "Okay, okay, but you can't keep doing what you've been doing that's not okay" she pulls back and wipes my tears away.

"I.... I can try. But please no therapy," I'm begging her at this point. "Okay, for now no therapy. But I'm serious Emma, if it continues were going to have to put you in therapy." she says sternly.

I nod, "I'm sorry about Wyatt, when he found out that you were the one who had burned your arms he got really mad," she says wiping the last of my tears.

There's loud yelling and crashing downstairs. "I'm going to go make sure they don't go on a killing spree. Are you going to be okay?" she asks turning to me when she gets to my door.

"Yeah, I'll be fine" I say and crawl under my blankets, "Don't forget to eat" she says then leaves.

I grab the plate and place it next to me on the bed, eating as I lay there.

"Matthew where have you been all these years!" the coach yells as Matthew scores yet another goal.

It's Friday now and I decided to let the hockey boys have the whole rink since they have their game tomorrow.

I decided to stay and watch, mostly because I've been trying to avoid my brother's as much ad possible.

They all freaked out the other night when dad told them about what Jonah did to me. I'm surprised they haven't tried to kill him at school yet.

Their practice ends a little earlier than usual because the coach says he wants them to get as much sleep as they can before tomorrow.

"Matthew, you still coming over for dinner?" I yell as they start heading to the locker room.

"Yeah, tell your dad not to hate me for being a little late though," he says back.

I stand grabing my bag, "Matt, I'm like a thousand percent sure he loves you more than me and my brothers. You know, his actual kids, you could completely bail and he'd still ask me to invite you over next week." I say chuckling.

"Okay, I'll see ya there" he says and turns back to heading up the ramp. The rest of the team is looking at me, I stand there awkwardly for a few seconds waiting for them to say something or leave but they don't.

I turn and continue on to the locker room, that was weird.

I pull into the driveway and see a text from Matthew.

Just left the rink, be there soon -Matty my love

"Matthew said he'll be a few minutes late, he's just now leaving the rink," I say as I walk through the door. "Is he nervous about tomorrow?" my mom asks wiping her hands off on a towel.

"I think he's more excited than anything, he's missed playing amd he's glad to be back doing it even if it's just one game," I say sitting at the island and taking a cookie my mom made.

She still tends to stress bake, something I also got from her.

"So how's it been going?" I ask nodding to the living room.

Gracie, Greyson, and her parents are in there with some of my other aunts and uncles. "Well Landon has been acting all big and bad since he got here," Dad says coming up next to mom.

"I sense a but in there," I say taking another bite of the cookie. "I think he likes him, Vivi definitely does" he says and I turn around and see Landon trying not to laugh at something Greyson said.

"So how'd the game go?" I ask Seth as he coming into the kitchen, "We won obviously" he says with a smirk.

A few minutes later Matthew comes through the front door, "Matthew," my dad says going over and hugging him.

I'm telling you, this man loves him more then he loves his own kids.

"Can't wait to watch you play tomorrow," he says letting him go, "Thanks, I can't wait for you to see me win," he says smiling.

"Who are you playing?" my mom asks as she gets plates out of the cabinet.

I look over to Matthew, he hasn't mentioned who they're playing yet. His smile drops and his face almost pales.

"Um, it's not important. They aren't any good, heard their best player quit" he says and places his bag down under the island.

I scrunch my eyebrows together and he gives me this look that almost says, 'drop it'.

Dad announces that dinners ready and Matthew and I quickly grab our plates and make them. If you don't move fast you'll be left with scraps.

We go to the table and dinner goes by fine, no one talks about Tuesday or my arms. They're all more concerned about Greyson.

"So Greyson Gracie said you were in all AP classes, what do you plan on doing after highschool with all that knowledge?" Uncle Landon asks.

Me and Matthew can't help but bust out laughing making everyone look at us.

"You aren't in all AP classes,"I say leaning forward a little to look past Gracie and at Greyson.

He just looks back at me, "You are?!" I ask in disbelief then look back at Matthew and he looks just as confused.

"Seriously?" Matthew asks, "Yeah, have been since ninth grade," Greyson says shrugging.

"Greyson you asked me if Kansas was Central America the other day," I say with a little worry in my voice. I mean if he's gonna end up being the future father of my cousins I have a right to be worried.

"It's in the CENTER of AMERICA!" he yells, "No, we aren't having this argument again," Gracie sighs dropping her head down into her hand. "I'm sorry Gracie, but you're dating an absolute idiot," I say and Uncle Felix laughs.

Dinner ends and everyone leaves, it's a little after eleven and me and Matthew decide to hit the hay since he's gotta be at the rink at eight A.M. "Matthew scoot over," I groan trying to push him at least an inch so I can be comfortable on the bed.

"Emma quit pushing meeee" he whines and rolls over a little, "Share the bed, you're lucky I didn't make you sleep on the air matress," I say and curl into his back. "It's just because you looooooove me" he say's sleepily, "I do love you but you need to go to sleep, so no more talking," I say and put a pillow over his face.

After a few minuets his breathing gets to a regular pace and little snores are coming from him. I take the pillow from his face and close my eyes and roll away from him and drift off to sleep.

Matthews big game is tomorrow!

But it's not gonna just be a game, oh no. He's going to get a very special visit from a very special person.
