Chapter 48

Cody' s P.O.V

While Emily was in the bathroom getting ready I was sitting on her bed observing her beautiful room. It was decorated in purple and black. Nice. As I sat there a smile crept upon my face when I remembered the moment that Em and I just had. She is something else. I searched my phone to see if there was any new messages. Chad and the others were calling me to party with them, but I' d prefer to spend my time with Em. And its her birthday so why not?. I also had miss calls from my mom, dad and sister. Emily's mom must have invited them because I met up into them earlier downstairs. After 10 minutes of going through the rest of the messages I heard when the bathroom door cracked. Finally. I got up off the bed quickly with my hands in my pocket. I heard footsteps coming towards me. I knew it was Em. I noticed that she was wearing nude heels that fit her feet just right. My eyes moved up her body slowly. I could feel the heat in the room already. My eyes roamed over her body as I got a full view of what she was wearing. She spun around smiling. " How do I look?", She asked.  I took a while to answer. " Breath taking actually. You look amazing. I don' t know anything about dresses and stuff like that, but that pencil skirt fits your body perfectly. Especially around there.... ah....again breath taking", I said not believing I just said some of the things I said. Emily laughed." Thank you Cody. Now,  let's go party?", she commented  laughing and grabbing my hand. " ok", I replied following her lead. She stopped in her tracks taking a selfie of us together. " Why do you love taking so many pictures?. I've never taken so many photos in one day.", I said making my way downstairs beside Emily and smiling. " Why not capture the moment?. I mean do you want tomorrow to come and all I'll remember is that it was my birthday.  Why not capture the humanity of the moment and reveal how rich reality is?.", she asked. I was stunned. " That' s true. Real talk.", I said brushing my hands against hers. She looked up at me smiling placing my hands in hers. Another smile crept upon my face.

Emily' s P.O.V

As we continued our long journey down the stairs I heard everyone singing happy birthday. I halted at the sight of everyone at the bottom of the stairs singing. My heart was filled with warmth although not everyone had that voice that would wow someone, but that didn't matter. All that mattered to me was I was surrounded by people who loved and cared for me. I looked up at Cody who was also singing with them. I laughed.  I saw when Shelly made her way through the crowd carefully with a cake. Oh my Gosh. I covered my mouth stepping down on the last stair s. The cake was so gorgeous.

This is so cool. It was so cool. The cake was decorated with makeup tools that I was familiar with. Mom came up beside Shelly with another cake
