Let's Do It Now

"Debrief as soon as we land. Conference Room 204," Azyr informs as we near the base.

Sinjae and Destil aid the Beta Team in healing their member's injuries. The captain is able to stand and walk by the time we reach base. Kilo and I follow Major Azyr to Conference Room 204 in a building towards the center of base where Ilios is waiting in the room with some of his officers.

Azyr debriefs Ilios on the mission and informs him of the captured demon. Ilios listens intently as I tell him of the demon on the roof.

"Meet with me tomorrow. With Kilo. We need to discuss this further," Ilios says as I finish.

"Yes, sir," I nod.

"I will discuss this information with my commanding officers. We will hold a meeting tomorrow morning at o'eight hundred. For now, rest up. You've worked hard, everyone," Ilios concludes.

As soon as we stand and salute, I drag Kilo back to our tent. As exhausted as we both are, I refuse to wait!

"Castyr, what's-" Kilo starts as I close the tent

I cut him off with, "Let's do it. Now."

"Are you sure? Here? In a war zone?"

"Yes! Especially because we're in a war zone! We don't know what could happen tomorrow. We need to do it tonight."

"...Okay. But, Castyr, I thought you'd like your first time to be somewhere nice and...well...not here."

"What do you mean first time? We're only doing this once." His comment confuses me. Why wouldn't I want to do it here?

"We-we-we're only doing it once? Wait, is it not your first time?"

Why does he look sad and disappointed? We can only do it once.

"What do you mean? Of course it's my first time. I know we can only officially make the connection once, but I'm sure we can do things to make it stronger," I look up at him. "Don't we just have to connect once?"

Kilo pauses for a moment. He brings his hand to the back of his neck and runs his fingers through his hair as he releases a breath. "Co-connect? Oh! Yes, we definitely need to do that."

"I've been wanting to bond with you for a long time. I thought that since you have your wings, we could do it," I say shyly.

"Mmm hmm. Definitely. I'd love to bond with you." Kilo smiles and takes my hand. He seems to have recovered from whatever surprised him.

"Okay. Good," I smile. "How does it work?"

Kilo smiles down at me and places my hand on the side of his neck. "By an interchange of our energy. It's kind of like letting our souls mingle and meet each other," Kilo says as he places his hand on my neck. "Basically, we envelope each other with our energy, and when we pull away, a little piece of us will be left in the other."

"Wow..." I stare up at Kilo in awe. How is he so cool and hot at the same time?

Kilo closes his eyes and brings our foreheads together. A shimmering purple energy flows from Kilo as a shining silver energy emerges from me. I smile as I am engulfed in Kilo's warm energy. The purple and silver intermingle for a few minutes before withdrawing back into our bodies. Happiness and warmth flood me as Kilo's presence resides in me, a familiar presence touching my mind.

The first thing I see is Kilo's purple eyes. <Wow...is he even real?<

Kilo smiles. <Why? Am I handsome?>

<Yes. Very much so. Wait...Your lips aren't moving. My lips aren't moving. Can we talk through our minds?> I squeal in excitement as Kilo smiles and nods.

"Yes. We now have a mind link."

"So, like, we can have secret conversations?"

"Mm hm."

"Wow! This is so cool!"

Kilo smiles as he watches me get all excited. "You're so cute," he says as he ruffles my hair.

Curiosity enters my veins as I think back on our conversation. "Wait...so, what were you thinking we were going to do?" I look at Kilo suspiciously and a little bit flirtatiously.

"What? I don't know what you're talking about," Kilo does not even try to sound like he is telling the truth.

"Yes, you do," I smile and tackle Kilo. We land on the bed, and I start tickling and messing with him.

"Okay, okay, I surrender!" Kilo laughs between breaths.

I pause my attacks. "So you gonna tell me, now?" I interrogate him teasingly.

"Never!" Kilo exclaims playfully as he flips me over and lands on top of me. His face hovers just a breath away from mine. I hold my breath as I find myself staring up at Kilo. His eyes trail down to my lips. My heart skips as I hear his quiet panting from my playful attacks.

I look up at him through love-glazed eyes. "Can we at least kiss in a war zone?" The words are not even fully out of my mouth before Kilo's lips cover mine. I close my eyes and kiss him passionately. His hand finds mine on the bed, and our fingers interlock.

I crane my head back into the bed and catch my breath as Kilo kisses down my neck. My other hand holds Kilo's neck as he nips at my skin lovingly. He kisses down my collarbone before making his way back up and softly sucking on my ear lobe in passing. I turn my face into him as our lips meet again in a deep kiss.

<Is it possible to fall for you any more? You've completely destroyed me, Kilo. There is no way I can ever recover from you.>

<Don't worry, love. I won't completely consume you right now. I want you to be comfortable and ready.>

Kilo's voice resonates through me as his touch covers me. His response sends excitement and respect through me. His lips give me breath and life while leaving me breathless. The more he touches me, the more I crave.

<Ahh. I'm doomed.>
