Chapter 158: Tenrou Island (2)

~Third POV~

Anticipation filled the air on the boat when the guild Master Makarov announced their trials had begun Loke questioned in confusion his response, "Aren't… we way out at sea?"

Makarov only responded with a cheeky grin on his face realizing that they had to act by first heading to the shoreline of Tenrou Island on their own merits.

*Wooosh*

Immediately jumping into action Natsu goes to the high ground of the ship as Happy uses <Aera > to spread his wings with Natsu announcing in excitement, "So that's the deal, Happy! We're gonna be the first to choose a path!!!"

Happy exclaimed happily, "Aye sir!"

Everyone voiced their arguments, but Silva already reacted by talking to Ur to leave using his Flying Magic Carpet getting her attention, "Come on Ur. Let's take a page out of their book and leave, shall we?"

Ur, merely smiled as she got on board the Magic Flying Carpet as they began to leave only to stop hearing a gong sound as their eyes dart towards the source.

*Gonng*

Cana exclaimed in shock the spell used surprised, "Jutsu Shiki?!!"

*Keeeeen*

The runes of the <Jutsu Shiki> activated revealing to be Fried's dirty work as the perpetrator flying using his magic to create rune-like wings spoke to his comrades, "Relax! It's due to come down after I get my 5-minute head start!"

The group yelled curses at him as Bickslow flying with his tottems responded to Fried in a curious tone, "Why didn't you just lock them up inside there for the length of the test?"

Fried replied to Bickslow as they breezily had the head start in S-Class Trials with a smirk, "That wouldn't have been a test then now would it?"

Going into the distance Ur discussed her concerns about escaping the <Jutsu Shiki> looking over to Silva if he had a plan around it, "Damn. Seems like Fried really pulled a fast one on all of us. Got any mumbo jumbo to get us out? We both know with your vast Magic Tools you got to at least have one for this?"

Replying with a confident smirk announcing it to everyone revealing his All Spells Must Be Broken – Rule Breaker dagger out, "As a matter of fact I do. Sorry to burst your bubble Fried but this will be a free-for-all!"

*BAM*

*CREAK*

Slamming the dagger at the Jutsu Shiki the effects of Rule Breaker activated destroying the Jutsu Shiki immediately upon contact as Levy and Evergreen's eyes widened realizing that the so-called spell that can't be broken had cracked under the dagger.

*Woooosh*

Using <Invisible Air> on themselves they soon rocketed out waving at the group as their ticket out just appeared, "Sorry folks but this round will be all me!! But you can thank this gracious Trickster for an out present to you!! Smell yah later!"

Realizing the Jutsu Shiki broke Natsu and Happy were the first to capitalize on the chance leaving immediately as Nastu yelled in anger at Silva's taunt, "Oh, hell no you don't jerk!! That first-place spot is all mine!!"

*Brrr*

The group immediately went into action as Elfman's, and Juvia's team immediately swam their way to the shore.

Mest and Wendy both vanished via his <Teleportation > Magic to easily go to the first place immediately without the Jutsu Shiki stalling them.

Cana and Lucy took to the water Lucy smirked seeing the situation in her favor smiled in a happy tone, "Now this right here is my element. Hopefully, we can reach there on time… <Star Dress: Aquarius Form>!!"

*Shiii*

Changing into a <Star Dress> most suited for her Cana asked in concern for her friend using that from the get-go, "You sure you want to use that here Lucy? Doesn't waste a lot of your Magic Power?"

Not replying Lucy used <Water Magic> in her state to quickly reach the shoreline causing a small tidal wave to reach them there.

Focusing on her magic Lucy finally replied in a happy tone determined to help her friend reach S-Class Wizard status, "Yeah. But if we can get there before anyone else then we might have the chance to rest. Or if not, I can use my Magic Power full power rushing them but thankfully with the training we gone through thanks to your dad prepared us for this I can keep it up a bit longer."

Cana only nodded trusting her friend's words not to over-exhaust herself as they quickly passed Elfman and Juvia's team not far behind Natsu's team trying to reach for one of the routes to determine their path.

Reaching the shoreline first Mest and Wendy arrived as she complemented Mest Magic in surprise, "Whoa! I didn't know you could do that Mest mister!"

Mest merely smirked scratching his head responding to Wendy's kind words gazing at the open routes available to them nervously making beads of sweat at the amount of Magic Power heading towards Tenrou Island, "Yeah! Without the Jutsu Shiki stalling us first place goes to us. Although the Magic in this place is crazy strong… Hmm…"

Noticing the free paths available Mest suggested taking the 'Peace and Quiet' Path available on the "I" Path in a calm tone, "Since we're here how about we avoid any confrontation? Let's take the I Path available. Best to strike while the iron's hot!"

Wendy agreed following Mest since they wouldn't have to fight any of their guildmates unaware that Mest had ulterior motives.

Mest taking the "I" Path thought to himself hiding his true personality in a serious tone and concern watching his back, 'Maybe I can find something in the old ruins of this path. Perhaps I can find something incriminating to help the Magic Council get Fairy Tail to disband… but I have to be wary of that Silva guy though… my Magic didn't affect him in the least. Best to watch my back…'

*Shiii*

Once they entered the path a screen popped up with an "X" saying that the path was no longer available as it was taken by Mest and Wendy.

Arriving second to the shore Silva and Ur both managed to arrive with Fried's team catching up as they rushed ahead eyes widening noticing the "I" Path had already been taken.

Ur quickly comments on it clicking her tongue off the scene requesting Silva of the next step, "Ok kid do you know which one to head towards next?"

Not needing any words Silva chose for the remaining 'Peace and Quiet' Path left thinking to himself in a serious tone, 'The last peace and quiet path. I would rather go for the Erza or Mira fight but frankly, I'll settle for saving my strength when I need it. The last thing I need is to be weak here in this stage.'

Thinking ahead Silva didn't hesitate to leave for an easy path for the upcoming trials ahead as soon as everyone took their spots of which trials, they each faced…

Choosing Path "C" both Lucy and Cana arrived. Lucy exclaimed seeing a battle kanji on a flag in shock realizing their choice, "This can't be… a battle?!!"

*Rumble*

Revealing themselves Bickslow sticking his tongue out replied in glee facing a challenge, "I knew it!! It's Cana and the costumed girl…"

Fried responded expressing a confident glint in his eyes directing his attention to the two of them, "Then our battle is with you two?"

The two got on guard as Bickslow explained the rules they needed to follow to escape the room, "Sorry but only one team can stay around. And I plan to help my buddy here become S-Class!"

Not wasting any time the two teams began combat as Lucy grabbed two Golden Keys eyes determined thinking to herself, 'Looks like I must help Cana by going all out. Using Dress Mix will allow me to use 3 minutes of Magic Power but the exchange when time runs out so does my Magic Power. But it is worth it giving Cana the boost she needs. That time training with Gildarts for Cana's sake won't be in vain.'

Lucy's mind flashes back to Cana and her training under Gildarts for the brief week helping them get strong in the short amount of time under Fairy Tail's ace since the man himself wanted to prove to be a better father to his daughter.

And what better way was to train her to take the S-Class Trials getting them up which Lucy unfortunately took part in but in return got a boost to her own Magic Power under the guidance of Fairy Tail's ace along with Cana helping her to reach for her goal.

Recalling Gildart's suggestion, she experimented using her own Magic as did Cana about their Magic and what they could do thus leading to experiments or power-ups of their own once they learned Silva created his <Mana Zone>.

Realizing he experiments on his spells the both of them not wanting to be left out were determined to win or surprise him if the chance arose to fight him.

Thus left Cana and Lucy to experiment with their spells testing out possibilities and what-ifs they could use in their spells.

Lucy twirled both her Golden Celestial Keys in her hands changing using her spell immediately into a new form exclaiming in a determined tone, "<Star Dress Mix: Aquarius x Scorpio Form>!!"

*Shiii*

In her new form, the user dons an outfit, that appears to be a combination based on the Aquarius Form and Scorpio's appearance, obtaining a bikini set that sports a zigzag design and bulky armor around their limbs. A belt with Scorpio's and Aquarius' zodiac signs is tied around their waist and a large gun shaped like a scorpion's tail is placed at the back.

Furthermore, the user's hair becomes tied up in pigtails and an additional Aquarius sign is located between the user's collarbone whilst in this state. When casting this spell, a crossed keys tattoo appears at the back of the user's left hand with each key representing Aquarius' and Scorpio's keys.

Transforming the two members of the Thunder Tribe got serious sensing Lucy's Magic Power suddenly skyrocketed by combining the Magic Power of Aquarius and Scorpio causing Fried to compliment her in a serious tone, "I told you Bickslow. Silva isn't the only one to be careful of in this test but other members as well. Seeing Lucy's own Magic Power increase dramatically is very impressive for someone this young."

Eyeing them they tried to rush but then Cana played her card to end the fight immediately in a determined tone, "Sorry but this is our win boys!! See the fruits of our labor in action!!! <Spell Card: All Crush>!!!"

*SHIII*

Both of their eyes are alerted seeing the Magic Card burst out of one of Gildart's attacks recognizing the power within as the Magic Card creates a cross-shaped blast of energy in an attempt to disintegrate their target.

Noticing the danger, the two tried to get away as Lucy finished up her preparation, "Nope! You guys are taking these like men! <Aqua Storm>!!"

*Sheeeeee*

*Wsssssssh*

*SPLASH*

Lucy creates a swirling storm of water and sand against their target resulting in the destruction of a large part of the target's body but in this case used to stop the two from attacking.

Fried quickly tried to use <Reflect > onto his writing immediately to stop their attack but Cana merely pulled out another Magic Card calling out its effect name, "<Spell Card: Dispell>!"

*Poof*

Seeing his Magic destroyed into particles and seeing both attacks aimed at them Bickslow couldn't help but say in a defeated tone, "Well… we were fucked from the start."

*BOOOM*

What resulted next was an explosion knocking the two out as Lucy taps out of Magic Power exhausted with Cana carrying her on the side as she spoke out happily, "Whew… that takes care of them and I wouldn't have done this without you Lulu."

Lucy merely limped by Cana's side but responded happily reaching to the next round, "Yeah… hopefully the next round won't involve more fighting… hehehe…"

Cana nodded hopefully as well and the both of them made it to the next round.
