Third Floor (III)

"Raiton: Seiteki no Jutsu!" I voiced after I finished weaving through the hand signs and a ball of lightning appeared in my hand. I pointed my hand toward the target dummy and released the ball of lightning in my hand. The ball struck the dummy and it dispersed, releasing a small torrent of lightning and leaving a small charred spot on the surface of the dummy.

I stared at my hand in awe… It hasn't been a week yet, but I have already learned both Static Bolt and Thunder Binding… To be honest, I didn't even have to work that hard to learn either of them while I needed several months to learn the three basic E Rank Jutsus. It was downright insulting!

I didn't want to be presumptuous, but maybe I have finally discovered my Golden Finger… I wanted to laugh like a madman, but I somehow managed to stop myself. No, it was too early to celebrate as I wasn't sure about anything. I needed to conduct some more experiments and for that, I needed to borrow the Jutsu scrolls from my friends.

Though before that, I decided to perform Thunder Binding again. While I could already perform Thunder Binding, I decided to do it again… After all, practice makes a man perfect and I wanted to be able to do it without screaming out the name of the Technique for everyone to hear eventually.

So, I pulled out three kunais from my hip pouch and lodged them on the floor, making an invisible triangle…

Ox→Horse→Dragon

"Raiton: Kaminari Shibari" I voiced after I weaved through the hand signs and a three-sided wall appeared with the kunais as its points. According to the scroll, it was impossible for a person trapped inside the barrier to escape without outside help, but considering this was only a D Rank Jutsu, I wasn't going to place my trust in that.

Nodding my head in satisfaction a grin appeared on my face as I decided to dismiss the technique and now that I was done, I quickly collected my kunais and started to leave. While walking through the halls I started to wonder which Jutsu I wanted to learn next and after pondering for a bit, I decided to grab the Lightning Clone Technique.

It was already past midnight, but since we had no curfew we could stay out of the dorms as long as we wanted. Though we would be punished if we arrived late in the class… The classes were pretty basic and since I had Lightning-type Chakra nature, I only had to attend the classes for Lightning Chakra. They didn't teach much in the classes except for some basic stuff about Lightning Chakra, but we were free to ask questions as long as it was related to Lightning Chakra.

I arrived inside the boys' dorm and started to make my way toward Azui's bed… Thankfully, he wasn't asleep yet as I would have felt bad to wake him up. He was reading a book on Nature Transformation… "Hey Azui" I greeted him softly as most of the occupants in the room were already fast asleep.

He looked up from the book and stared at me before he glanced at the clock. Then he turned back toward me only to give me a deadpan… I smiled nervously as I started to speak. "Uh… Hey, I was wondering if I could borrow the Lightning Clone Technique from you?" I asked while rubbing the back of my head.

He simply stared at me for the next few moments, making me feel awkward before he leaned down and pulled out two Jutsu Scrolls from under his bed and held them out to me… Really? I only asked for the Lightning Clone Technique, but he was handing me the Raging Thunder scroll too. Not wanting to look into the mouth of a gift horse, I went to take the scrolls from him, but he didn't let go.

I raised my brows at him questioningly… Sometimes it was annoying that he didn't speak much. "Teach me" He practically demanded. My whole group knew that I had somehow managed to learn both Static Bolt and Thunder Binding, but I had urged them to keep that little tidbit among ourselves, and that was the only reason why my incredible competence when it came to Lightning Jutsu hadn't been aired yet.

Thankfully, there were a lot of training rooms on the third floor, so our group always took over a training room while we trained, which was good since nobody outside our group knew what we were up to… Well, except for the instructors, I guess. I wasn't delusional enough to believe that they weren't keeping an eye on everyone.

"Alright. Do you want to go now or…" I left the sentence hanging as I didn't want him to interrupt my training right now, but at the same time, I didn't want to come off as a rude asshole.

"Tomorrow morning" Azui said with a nod of his head and I nodded his head in understanding. Just like always, he conveyed his feelings with the bare minimum.

"By the way, thanks" I thanked him in a grateful tone as I started to leave the dorms, but before I left, I glanced toward the clock, I still had one hour to train. So, I hurriedly arrived inside the training room I had been using and opened the scroll containing the Lightning Clone Technique.

Hmm… Unlike the Clone Technique, I could use the Lightning Clone Technique to attack my enemies. While the Clones would disperse at contact, they would electrocute the enemy to stun them for at least a few seconds, but once again, I wasn't placing my bet on it as anyone from Akatsuki could probably tank the Jutsu without any effects.

Still, the Lightning Clone Technique was much better than the Clone Technique since it wasn't a Projection Genjutsu. It would be harder for the enemies to differentiate between myself and the Clones since they were going to be solid enough to cast a shadow and crush the grass or dirt underneath their feet…
