Chapter 9: King's Mode
A few days earlier.
Japan.
Margarette was eating on her favorite restaurant.
"Do you need anything else?" The waiter asked to Margarette
"No I'm good, anyway has there any major event that happened here recently?" Margarette asked the waiter
"Not that I'm aware of, although a few miles away from here there's this small rural village that was laid wasted after an attack, I heard it was some terrorist, but I do think it's the mistenial empire as that Village used to be the home of one of the 7 legendary Titans" The waiter said
"Oh? is that so, thank you" Margarette said
Margarette finished her meals and said to himself.
"Tako Village is a few miles from here, I wonder if Marwin is there" She said to himself.
Margarette then paid for her meal and started to walk away from the restaurant to her car with 2 guards waiting for her.
"Princess" The guard said as he bow.
"Yeah yeah, I know" Margarette said as she entered the car.
"Where to princess" the driver said
"Take me to Tako Village" Margarette said
"Tako village? it's been awhile are you visiting Sensei Shiroi?" The driver said
"it's been a while, but yeah I want to confirm something with him" Margarette said
as they were driving, Margarette fell asleep and dreamed of a memory from the past.
General Trias, Cavite, 2024
Margarette, Amy and Reian was sitting in the grass with all of them holding a wine glass, they were under the light of the night sky.
"It's been a while since we relaxed like this, it's been fight after fight for about 3 years now" Amerie said
"Yeah, anyway we've just been integrated into a branch of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, The Philippine Paranormal Army, and I was promoted to Seccond Leiutenant, and Noah has just became a Colonel together with Marwin, Joshua and Leonel" Margarette said
"Well, we might be heroes but as far as I'm aware the reason they given us ranks and our own military branch is for us to do hero stuff legally" Reian said
"Hey hey, let's stop the work talk, we're here to relax, I never Knew Marwin has such a nice house here, I've always known he was broke" Amerie said
"Well, he is, this house belonged to his parents" Reian said
"His parents? which is your Parents in laws right?" Margarette said
"well hehe, yeah" Reian said visibly blushing.
"Hey, how does it feel to be inloved with someone as cold and direct as Marwin? I mean both of you know that right?" Amerie said
"well, it's pretty great, wait, Marga You used to date my husband right?" Reian asked
"Uhm, it's in the past" Margarette said
"Yeah, past huh" Amerie said
Japan, Tako village a few days before Mordred's attack
Margarette's eyes widen as their car close in the village, it's in ruin and there's a lot of UNAF soldiers.
Margarette disappeared from the car and teleported into the village.
"What the fuck happened here?" Margarette said as her voice cracks.
Margarette ran and teleported towards Shiroi's home, and there he saw his ashes being with lit incense
a priestess walked up to Margarette.
"Princess it's been a while" The priestess said
"What happened here?" Margarette asked as her tears fallks down her face
"Well, the Villaged was attacked by Mistenial Soldiers, and Shiroi with all his strength tried to defend this village, he died a few days later, he was still alive when Marwin arrived here, they just left yesterday" The priestess said.
"Why didn't he called?" Margarette said.
"I don't know, but we don't blame the Knights, this is our village it's his job to defend it" The priestess said
"Where did Marwin go? and who was he with?" Margarette asked
Before the priestess answers Agent Q interrupted them.
"He's with Master Markus, he is currently heading to where Mistress Amy is" Agent Q said
"What? Who's Markus?" Margarette said
"The chosen king, Markus Aveno" Agent Q said
"The kid Curl Adopted? where's Curl?" Margarette asked
"Dead, I'm sorry Princess, but Director Noah wants to talk to you, can you follow me towards the Control Center that we have just installed in the village?" Agent Q said
"Sure, lead the way Agent" Margarette said
A few days Later...
Margarette was reading the report of all she missed in her absence.
She was in the Control Center.
The Control console rung.
"Hey Noah, what's up" Margarette answered
"Good you're there, head to this Location, Marwin is fighting with his support gear offline, he needs your help, can you get there now?" Noah said
"What? what the fuck is he thinking, sure, I'll borrow one of your ship is that okay?" Margarette asked
"Sure, knock yourself out, the Titan's and Unaf's resources is yours to spend, just get there he needs you, Gawain out" Noah said
"Gawain? you're still using that codename, geez" Margarette said
Agent Q gave her her new Armor
Margarette Lalog, Codename : Merlin,Knights Mark VI Nano Armor
"what's your fastest ship here? and a pilot, I need to go there asap" Margarette said.
Present day, UNAF J base.
"You've Grown hot" Marwin said as they fight Mordred
"Stop flirting and start fighting you idiot" Amerie said in their Radio.
"Oh, so you're listening" Marwin said
"Yeah, and I'm pissed, I told you not to get Amy involve in this" Amerie said
"can you please just focus in the fight right now? let's talk about that later this guy is pretty hard to beat" Amy said
"Wait? Amy is fighting? who is she fighting?" Amerie asked
"Not your problem mom, I need to focus because I don't want to die" Amy said
"You're all pretty loud you know that right?" Markus said
"Shut up!" Amerie and Amy said.
"Ok" Markus answered.
Margarette Looked as Markus as he fights
"What the heck? is he fighting without a barrier? isn't that dangerous?" Margarette said
"well, he can't actually use Authority that well" Marwin said
"WHAT? YOU ASKED A KID TO A FIGHT WITHOUT A SHARPENED SWORD?" Margarette yelled
"Well I could've use your help, you're the best one in that" Marwin said
Tako Village
Marwin and Markus was training.
"it's good that you can fight with sword, but, when fighting real enemies, you can't block every attack towards you, all of the Titans before you learned a basic authority control, a barrier that protects you from any physical attacks, it like an invisible shield that is only visible to everyone that can see aura, there are 2 types of barrier, an active shield and a passive shield, a passive shield is an extra layer if hard yet thin layer of Aura around your body, Active shield is a shield created to protect you or your ally, it can be wield differently depending on how you use it. It's very crucial to us, since most of our opponents are very strong, I can teach you how to control that passive shield, but it would end up with you having your aura leaking again, so please do be careful"
Markus was nearly hit by an attack but Margarette teleported to Markus and block the attack.
"Hey kid! stop sleeping, you'll be killed! and you do know we can't have you killed right? you have very important job to do so please be careful!" Margarette said
Markus was shocked for a moment but was able to quickly recollect his thoughts.
"Thank you, I sure will" Markus said
Margarette was a bit shock to Markus' calm demeanour, which reminded him of Marwin when he was young, Calm and quick to adapt.
Margarette teleported back to Marwin and attacked Mordred and once again made Mordred flew away.
"That kid, he's the same as you were when you were young, calm, quick to adapt, I remember him when he was just a kid I never knew he was a chosen one" Margarette said
Margarette Watched Markus fight as she fight Mordred Together with the weakening Marwin.
As Margarette watch Markus, she could've ignore the similarities of Markus to the young Marwin.
same demeanor, same fighting style, same fighting spirit.
"I think that kid Idolized you, I mean he does look a bit like you, minus the nose" Margarette said
"Hey we're fighting Mistenial Empire's General so please focus I'm running out of Juice, Noah? can you hear me?" Marwin said
"Woah, you felt my presence? yes I can hear you" Noah answered still on his way to the sight.
"Status report" Marwin said
Noah brought up a screen with reports throughout the military currently enggaging the enemies.
"The UNAF and JSDF is fighting the hordes of Mechanical soldier in the border a few kilometers from the civillian area, The UNAF base is overrun, what are you thinking?"Noah said
Marwin clicked the device in his nape.
"I'm nearly out of juice, I'll go full out, send out a message to everyone, retreat to the border and leave the UNAF base, Markus, Amy and Margarette proceed to the Border and prevent any enemies to reach the civillian area" Marwin
"Woah, the boss is back, Yes sir!" Margarette said.
Markus delivered a blow to his opponent, Margarette quicly teleported him and Amy away from the base.
"Amy, you can fly right?" Margarette asked.
"Yeah, using aura it's not that fast though" Amy said
"It's okay, go the border, I'll sent the location to your heads up display" Margarette said
"Are you sure Marwin? you might die and we both know you can't die just yet" Noah said
"Noah? do you really think you can stop him?" Margarette answered.
Marwin stopped, and focused in controlling his aura, he closed his eyes and crossed his arms.
A huge surge of aura was felt by everyone, even to those who doesn't have the ability to see aura.
Mordred stopped attacking and looked at Marwin,
"Fucking shit, you two shits, retreat I'll handle him on my own." Mordred said
aura started covering Marwin's body, he was a bit jacked and his eyes changed it's color.
