LUCAS POV

I sat, quietly observing Tony while giv3him time to gather himself. Although his eyes were red and puffy, something seemed off about him. His body language was quite okay. It was like what he was doing was forced or fake .

Finally, he turned around and looked at me with his strange, steady gaze. He sniffed and wiped his nose on his sleeve. "I am so glad you're alive, boss. I thought I'd never see you again."

I scoffed. "You should know I'm tougher than that."

"Yeah! How about Mrs Sophia?"

"She's fine. Asleep."

"Oh!" he said, reducing his voice.

"How have things been?"

"Not good. Not good at all, boss. I don't know what is going on but since the merger, Miss Ava and Mr Gabriel have been doing nothing but destroying your reputation and that of the company. I think that was the plan from the start. To get you and the other board members to the point where we were going to be dead and that was going to be it. The whole thing is ridiculous."
