LUCAS POV

Today is day 35! I marked on the tree. I stared at my almost complete boat. I can't wait to set sail and leave this place. I felt like I was almost finished with my boat. My fingers were sore and I had knots in my back from the hours of work I put into it.

We'll be out of here soon. We have been here for a month now and we are about halfway done.

I know that if we leave soon we'll have to go back to our regular lives, but for now we are able to live in this little slice of paradise. We might have to leave soon, but for now we can enjoy the small things.

I heard a gasp behind me a d knew I had been caught.

"You are building a boat?"

"You followed me?"

"You think I don't notice your sneaky-sneaky movements? Turns out you're building a boat. You little deceitful thing."

I couldn't help but smile at the way she looked amazed and awed.

"I wanted it to be a surprise."
