Journey to the Ancient Battlefield 4

There was naturally no need for communication between enemies.

Without hesitation, the Barbarians that were previously advancing at a steady pace moved at full speed.

Their leader was waving his bone blade manically while yelling some battle cries.

The distance of dozens of meters was narrowed in a few steps. Within this time period, Leo's qi and blood boiled, and the Martial Spirit made its appearance.

The Barbarians were obviously slowed down, but the weakening was not strong. They made contact with Leo and then...

There was no 'then'.

In less than a minute, half a dozen large corpses were littered around Leo.

Some of them were mutilated and bloodied, while some were charred black. Some were even ripped in half.

Leo shook his head in disappointment, having expected more from the Barbarians.

Looking at his tattered clothing, he 'borrowed' some beast skins from the dead assailants before going on his way.

...

Lightning flashed.

Armnd's body rippled with power. Up to fifteen Aberration corpses were at his feet.

Three of them were Tier Three, while a dozen were Tier Two.

Any other Official Warlock would be incapable of such a feat, as a Tier Three Aberration would require all of their power.

But Warlocks of GodKings were on another level in terms of power.

Not to mention, Armand was a prodigy, in the the truest sense of the word.

He let out a loud roar as the Divine Energy in him was increasing quickly.

*BANG*

A loud sound was heard. The Divine Energy had broken through an invisible bottleneck. He closed his eyes quickly and went through the process.

Lightning seemed to pour out from empty space into Armand's body, tempering it and forming strange symbols in the air.

*CRACKLE*

One... Two... Three...

A total of three cryptic symbols were flashed in quick succession, and entered Armand's body.

He trembled violently, as his level of life was increased.

He had finally advanced... To a Master Warlock!

Armand opened his eyes and breathed out a mouthful of turbid air. Within a few weeks atost, he would have thoroughly mastered the 3rd Grade Spells that had been imparted in him by his ascent into theaster Warlock realm.

That was his advantage after all, as others would require between half a year to a few years, to fully digest their new spells and be eligible for another increase in realm.

The commotion gradually died down.

A robed elder stood some distance away, his eyes filled with excitement.

'Our Heavenly Lightning Sect is truly lucky to have produced such a super genius...

'Becoming a Master Warlock at the age of eighteen, I believe even his father did not achieve such a feat.'

The Heavenly Lightning Sect was the mainstay of all Warlocks of the GodKing of Lightning, which numbered less than two thousand. They also accepted some talented Warlocks of other GodKings or Major Gods.

The sect was incredibly powerful, standing on the same level as the War Paragon Sect of the GodKing of War and Destruction, and standing slightly higher than sects of the remaining two GodKings.

And now, they were ein possession of possibly the greatest prodigy the world had ever seen - Armand.

The young man had a few extra more strands of silver added to his black hair. Wearing clothes that had been previously prepared, he casually referred to the elder;

"Is there any news from my father?"

"None, young master, he is still occupied in the Death Zone." The robed elder replied respectfully, even though he was a powerful Grandmaster Warlock.

Firstly, Armand's full name was Armand Keraunos.

There was something that made Armand untouchable, by ill intentioned humans and assassinations from Devils alike.

It was a reason that even Gods, though minor ones, were wary of.

The spokesman of the GodKing of Lightning, and arguably the strongest human alive.

There was only one man worthy of this title...

Shard Keraunos.

And he was Armand's father.

'He has been in the Death Zone for close to two years now. What is going on?' Armand thought with a frown.

'Don't tell me... The 'one' father told me about is coming again!' Armand's expression suddenly changed greatly, and he hurriedly tried to dispel his thoughts.

At 'his' level, even if someone just thought of 'him', he would sense it.

It was better to be more cautious.

...

---Energy: 3969%

'Only Aberrations give Energy.'

Leo finally concluded, seeing that he didn't gain anything from the recent battle.

Sighing, he searched once more and finally found a cave.

It had been a few hours since his first encounter with the Barbarians, and dusk was approaching.

Lighting a small fire nearby, Leo prepared to rest and continue his journey the next day, when he suddenly heard it.

*HOWL~*

He remained still and listened carefully. Almost instantly, several more howls could be heared, and he belatedly realized they were getting closer.

'Should be a wolf pack.' Leo thought as he moved towards the cave entrance, not taking it seriously.

[A/N: What? Did you think the MC would be scared of a mere wolf pack?!]

But when he looked into the distance, he was stunned.

Less than two-tenths of a kilometer away(200m), hundreds of Barbarians rode Ice Wolves, and all of them were coming in his direction.

"@$&##!!!"

Leo couldn't help but swear violently. Without wasting time, he fled at an astonishing speed.

He didn't need to be told to know that those Barbarians were the from the tribe of the Barbarians he had decimated previously.

They must have used the Ice Wolves to track him, even though he had walked almost ten miles from that place.

Leo brought out all the parkour skills that he had ever seen or heard of, trying to use the mountainous terrain of the Northern Mountains to throw off his attackers.

However, the Ice Wolves and their riders were obviously more experienced and used to the terrain than he was.

They were hot on his heels.

"BANTI, GANK!!!"
