Flame Clawed Wolf2

Without any delay, Leo bolted in the direction of the scream, leaving the others in the dust.

Within ten seconds, he arrived at the scene.

A few others were there facing off against a black wolf standing in front of a mutilated corpse, almost as if they were having a staring contest with it.

This absolute beast was a full three meters long, standing at an impressive 1.2 meters tall, sporting red pupils and baring it's feeth ferociously.

Its claws were covered in faint flames, and the grass on which it stood on was charred black.

Some of the hunters present took their bows and started shooting at the wolf, but it easily dodged the arrows and jumped towards the only loner present.

Which was Leo!

It's figure blurred as it practically erased the six meter distance between them.

In an instant, all the background noises around Leo were filtered out, as years of combat experience came into the picture.

'Point of impact is at the base of the neck, on the trachea.'

Leo's mind came into full gear as he twisted his body, narrowly dodging the Flame Clawed Wolf's pounce.

Howling loudly, the beast swept it's claw at another nearby hunter, severing him into two, before turning it's savage gaze back at Leo.

This slight lapse in focus was taken advantage of by the enraged hunters as two of them struck at it with their swords, causing two deep gashes on its back.

The pain reddened the beast's eyes even more, as it crushed the skull of the first perpetrator with one bite, while the other retreated to a safe distance.

Howling again, it pounced again at Leo, whose pupils shrank.

Turning, he jumped above the wolf leaving both of them in mid-air, his body trembling slightly, gathering force.

{Spiritual Totem Technique - Ferocious Tiger: Power Claw}

His left fist curled into a claw-like shape and swung at the wolf, leaving an afterimage and a shrill noise in the air.

The strike hit the wolf squarely on its spine.

The force of the attack sent the wolf slamming into the ground and raising a large cloud of dust.

When the dust cleared, the aftermath was laid bare for all to see.

All the grass in a three meters radius had been uprooted and sent flying in all directions.

There were dozens of cracks, big and small, on the soil underneath.

And the body of the Flame Clawed Wolf lay there unmoving. It had no visible injuries, except for blood pouring from its mouth...

But all it's organs had turned to mush.

Leo landed gently, steam emitting from his clenched fist.

'It's finally dead.'

...

A few minutes later, fourteen hunters walked back to the village, with Leo carrying the dead Flame Clawed Wolf.

They were supposed to be happy, as they emerged victorious, against a Flame Clawed Wolf at that!

But they couldn't bring themselves to show any joy.

The death of three hunters was a significant loss to this small village, with less than one hundred families.

When they were back at Heart Village, under the curious gaze of the villagers, the hunters carried the huge corpse to the Village Head's abode.

Unlike the huts around it, the Village Head's house was a almost three times larger, and some parts of it was even built with stone!

When the group arrived, the Village Head, a pot-bellied middle aged man, along with some Village Elders, were standing in the courtyard with wide smiles.
