CHAPTER SEVEN

I must have slept through the remaining hours of the ride to Crest Fall pack because I opened my eyes to Henry gently shaking my shoulders to get me to wake up.

"I'm up". I said stretching my body which was stiff as a result of the position I had slept in and came down from the car.

The first word that came to my mind was huge.

The Pack house was very huge like a mansion. While my Pack house was big this was bigger. I couldn't help but be amazed. I was sure my mouth was hanging open right then because Henry tapped my shoulder and gestured to my mouth.

"I know, it's really big and beautiful. Besides we are the one of the largest Packs in America so what did you expect". You could hear the pride in his voice.

I smiled my first real smile since entering the car. "That's right. My brother had told me how big it was but I just assumed he was exaggerating. It's really big and beautiful". I left him behind and continued looking around me. The grass surrounding the pack house was so green and there was even a really big fountain. There were flowers everywhere. It was really breath taking. I knew Vladimir wasn't responsible for this. Someone else had to have done it.

I was sure the inside would just be as beautiful if not more. I only wished he was here. As soon as that thought came my smile left.

I turned to find Henry only to see him with some men and from what he was saying to them you could tell they were the guards. He was directing them as too were they should take my belongings. I guess I was so fascinated with the surroundings that I didn't even hear them when they came. After giving them the instructions needed henry jogged towards me.

"Shall we". It was then I noticed that there wasn't anyone outside.

"Henry where are the pack members". I asked. He smirked at me before saying

"Well you see this pack house is only for the Alpha, Beta, Gamma and our close relatives. And also, those working here like the cook, cleaners and guards".

I was shocked to say the least. "So, you mean to tell me that only Vladimir, you, his Gamma and the staff stays here". WOW.

"Well my mate Gracie, the gammas mate Cora, Vladimir sister Josephine although she isn't here, she went to see her parents and his cousin Shawn and Shawn's mother but they have been away for 3 years now". He said running his hand through his short blond hair.

I nodded "But why have a separate pack house, why not just have one pack house and anyone who wanted to leave alone could but near the pack house. At least that's the case in other packs". In fact, this was the first pack that I've heard of that has two pack houses. My pack only had one and those who didn't want to stay in the pack house stayed close by but as I looked around, I couldn't see any houses nearby.

"Also, in case of an attack, everyone is close by".

"Well you see when Selena was still alive…" he stopped as if just realizing that he was talking about Vladimir's first mate in front of me.

"Don't worry I don't mind you talking about her. It might help me understand more about this whole situation with Vladimir". Besides she was here first I was simply a stranger that fate had brought into their lives as an afterthought. My wolf growled inside me at that thought

He nodded and continued. "Well when Selena was still alive, we all lived in the main pack house but after her death and due to the fact that it was because of a mole that the Vampires where able to enter the Pack unnoticed which as you know led to her death He decided to move to another Pack house with only the closest people to him ".

I understood that. He must have been so heartbroken that someone in his pack could have done something like that to him.

"Was the traitor eventually caught". He shook his head.

"After Selena died, he was too distraught at first to investigate things but soon after he tried his best but we couldn't find him/her. It was as if they'd vanished. So, he decided to move on". But how could he simply move on like that something wasn't right about that, it didn't sound like something Vladimir would do . So, I voiced out my thought.

"But he shouldn't have dropped it like that if I were the one, I wouldn't have rested till I caught the traitor ".

"Don't say that. Losing a mate isn't easy. You've seen him. We had to make him drop it, since we were coming out futile, he would have gone mad instead. Believe me when I say it wasn't easy to get him to do that ".

"Look let's just stop talking about this okay". He said. I nodded and we walked into the pack house together.

Entering into the house I was amazed at the beauty. The main living room couldn't have been more beautiful. The decorative swirly designs that sat on the wall were amazing the armchairs covered in black leather which clearly looked expensive and top quality were scattered around the room they all looked comfy enough to sleep. it was a nice blend of modern and antique furnishings never once clashing.

After he showed me to my room he asked if I needed anything to eat but I refused I wasn't hungry. I just wanted to take a shower and sleep this day off.

So, after taking a shower in the all glass corner shower and changing to my night dress I quickly took my phone to call home. I had called my parents first to tell them I had arrived safely. They had asked if Vladimir was here and I had lied that he was I didn't want them worrying about me.

Then I called Carlos and as usual he had made me laugh. He finally ended the call after a while but not before telling me that if I ever needed to come home because I was fed up with things here, I should give him a call immediately and he would come get me.

This almost made me cry.

And when I had finally called Liv, I couldn't hold back my emotions so I cried telling her how lonely I felt and also about Vladimir not being here. She had advised me to give him some time that he would eventually come around I said I would try but how much time will he need? After getting off the call with Liv I cried for some time I was missing my family so much. It took sometime before I could finally fall asleep.
