Chapter 47: The Wrong Kind of Deja Vu

Leena pulled her phone out of her back pocket. She’d just gotten home from her yoga class and got some peanut butter and celery to snack on. A little spike of excitement shot through her when she saw that she’d gotten a text from Ransom. It read: “Sorry, dolcezza, I’ve got to cancel our plans tonight. Work.”

Before she got the chance to respond, he sent another one. “I’ll make it up to you tomorrow, ” it read, followed by a winking emoji.

Leena pouted. Even though she’d just spent the weekend at Ransom’s house, she was bummed that she wasn’t going to get to see him. She looked around the room trying to figure out what she was going to do that night since she would be on her own. She couldn’t even remember what she did when she got home from work before Ransom came into her life.

She supposed that that was as good a time as any to go through the house again to look for Brian’s stuff.
