Soon after, they arrived at the side door, and entered. Inside Long Lei's eyes immediately flew around. 'I guess this is where they all were.' Long Lei thought as he gazed at all the little kids running about.
"Oh, look at all the little friends you can make Lei'er." Qin Mei said jovially as she looked around. A few seconds later her eyes locked onto a woman and she walked towards her along with Long Lei.
"Sister Mei, you're here." The woman greeted Qin Mei with a smile on her face. "Yes, we arrived a bit late due to some circumstances but we managed to attend." She replied with, as the other woman smiled.
On her lap sat a boy about Long Lei's height, with thick brown hair, and clear brown eyes. These two were obviously Lan Yi, and Hou Chin, Hou Cong's wife and son respectively.
"And is this Long Lei?" Lan Yi asked as she smiled towards him. "Yes, he's quite cute right?" Qin Mei replied, as she couldn't contain her pride in her cute son. "So I assume this is Hou Chin?" Qin Mei asked back, as Lan Yi nodded.
"Yes, this is my Chin'er, although he's a bit unruly sometimes he's a well behaved boy." Lan Yi answered, as her son looked at her annoyedly. "What do you mean unruly? I just want to train martial arts, this banquet is stupid!" Hou Chin said as he crossed his arms, in annoyance.
"Come on Chin'er not everything in life is about martial arts." Lan Yi said as she tried to settle down her son. "I see our sons have that in common. Long Lei can't stop cultivating." Qin Mei responded as she empathized with Lan Yi.
"Its not even that, he just practices literal martial arts day in and day out." Lan Yi said with some worry. "Why do you talk about them like that? To be a truly strong cultivator one must not neglect the body, a foundation is the most important aspect! I read about it in a book, and books are never wrong!" Hou Chin explained with pride.
'Is he talking about Body Cultivation? I should try that out actually.' Long Lei contemplated as he gazed at Hou Chin. 'He'll be a good subordinate, can probably make a lot of people triggered easily.' Long Lei continued his thoughts as a smile suffused through his face.
"How strong are your martial arts?" Long Lei inquired as he gazed at the boy. "Hmph! The strongest in the kingdom, if cultivated to the Golden Body, you can fight people above your realm and win, in the technique it says it can even bash Heaven and Earth!" Hou Chin said with pride, as Long Lei's interest was piqued.
"Don't listen to my son, he's simply interested in one of our ancestral martial arts, sadly parts of the technique was lost throughout time and it can only be cultivated to the Bronze Body Realm." Lan Yi explained, as Qin Mei had a look of enlightenment on her face.
"Oh so he's interested in the Divine Body Art?" Qin Mei replied, hearing this Lan Yi nodded. The Hou Clan's Divine Body Art was known throughout the Flowing River Kingdom, so it wasn't much of a secret, but its name as the strongest body technique, wasn't just for show.
Back in the day, Hou Cong and Long Tian, had fought many a foe, and the technique had saved Hou Cong's life on more than one occasion.
After a bit of chatting, Lan Yi and Qin Mei decided to let their children roam around a bit. "So, do you like martial arts?" Hou Chin asked as they walked around. "Well, yes but it depends what you mean." Long Lei replied as they walked towards a table filled with food.
"I mean body martial arts, martial skills are cool, but one must have a strong body to even dare execute them." Hou Chin said, emphasizing yet again Body Cultivation.
"Ah, well ya, I'll probably try them out at some point. What about you, will you do actual cultivation?" Long Lei asked offhandedly. "Of course, only idiots wouldn't do both. I read in a book, Path for the Strongest, and if one truly wants to become the best, they must learn both ways, and cultivate them to the peak. Only idiots pick one." Hou Chin answered giving an actually intelligent answer.
'Despite his martial arts love, he's actually quite intelligent.' Long Lei mused as they reached the table. Long Lei then grabbed some food and began to eat, when his eyes gazed forward, locking with a red haired, red eyed boy.
As their gaze connected for about two seconds, the red eyed boy soon dismissed Long Lei's gaze and turned around, his arrogant aura flaring for all to see.
Long Lei soon dismissed the boy, but Hou Chin couldn't help but smile madly, as he visibly grew excited. "A challenge." Hou Chin muttered as he began to walk towards the red eyed boy.
Before he could reach him though, Long Lei clutched his shoulder. "I don't think your mother would be too happy if you did that right now." Long Lei said as he tried to calm down the child. Hearing this Hou Chin was unfazed and he continued to walk towards the red eyed boy.
As Hou Chin neared, the boy soon turned his head looking back at him their eyes looking. "What do you want?" The boy asked, as Hou Chin smiled. "Fight me, right here, right now!" Hou Chin demanded as the boy shook his head.
"I am not going to take the time to squash an ant." The red haired boy dismissed Hou Chin's demand as he continued to walk away. Hearing this Hou Chin's will to fight was immediately quashed.
"Cowards don't interest me." Hou Chin simply said before turning around and walking towards Long Lei. "What did you call me?" The red haired boy looked back, as the temperature within the room seemed to drop.
Almost immediately, all eyes within the side hall locked onto the two. The room, filled with children and their mothers grew quiet as they looked at the red eyed boy.
Lan Yi's face paled seeing this, and the red haired boy snickered, before immediately disappearing, Hou Chin couldn't even see him.
"BOOM!"
"Yare Yare Daze." Long Lei said as he clutched the boy's fist in his hand. "What the? Who are you?" The red eyed boy asked in shock. "I am Long Lei, the strongest genius above the Heavens!" Long Lei said arrogantly as a smile couldn't help but consume his face.
"Hmph, you sure are arrogant. I am Yang Kong, the man who will rule the Flowing River Kingdom!" The boy retorted as Hou Chin stood at the side shocked. 'I was blind before, even in this small place there are 2 great opponents!' Hou Chin thought in wonder as he gazed at the two.
Not only was Hou Chin shocked, Qin Mei and Lan Yi were also dumbfounded, and another woman with an extremely arrogant air, looked on in shock as well. 'How could that kid clash with my Kong'er?' She thought, as she couldn't possibly understand how this happened.
"I don't know who you think you are, Yang Kong, but I might as well tell you this. Unless both God and the Devil are on your side, you will never match me." Long Lei said as he let go of Yang Kong's fist.
"And I rather not start a fight today, it is the Princess' birthday after all." He continued, as he was about to walk away, when suddenly another fist came flying towards him. "I say, when its over." Yang Kong declared, as his fist missed Long Lei.
"I see, but don't blame me for digging your own grave, kid." Long Lei said as he punched towards Yang Kong's abdomen.
