Such a powerful way to speak! This is the best way to learn. It sounds self-deprecating on the surface because you have to stay humble. However, if you try to get into the real meaning, it isn't ignorant and unsophisticated at all.
This isn't about being humble to the point of self-deprecating; this is about humility, a freedom from pride or arrogance. People who don't brag about their accomplishments, or if they recognize and acknowledge their weaknesses, will learn more and receive more.
It's important to be humble in order to meet new people, make connections with them, and learn from them.
