My Perfect Boy

Demyan

Ethan insisted he open up my gift first before I got to packing my clothes away. We had taken it to the foyer because that was where I imagined for it to hang if he liked it of course. I helped him remove the bow and nervously stood next to him as he lifted the large lid up to reveal the large acrylic painting I had made for him which I had gotten framed with a white border and a beautiful clean black frame.

He had seen my art more times than I could count but I felt like I was holding my breath as his eyes took in the special piece I had made just for him. A few days ago whilst I was with Dad in his home office, I was randomly looking through the shelves of family memorabilia he had neatly on display when I saw a picture I had never really paid attention to.
