Brave It Out

Demyan

"And you're quiet today?" Vasilisa looked at me as I stared out of the window of the restaurant we were having lunch at. It was rush hour so obviously it was busy but I wished we had gone somewhere quiet. I was just not in the mood to deal with the noise and people we knew constantly stopping by our table for a quick chat.

There was a part of me that just wished I could have gone home and had a very long nap but Lia and Eli would probably enter my room by force. There was truly no peace when it came to them.

"Demyan," she giggled as she reached out for my hand and shook it.

I blinked and sat up straight, "What did you say?"

"Why are you so quiet today?" she softly smiled, worry slightly filling her eyes, "You're normally chatting my ear off. What's wrong? Did Lia question your outfit choice again?"
