The Taking Of East

Jaquer Maclain's skull was already fleshed with an ugly face, but now it had a hole right between his eyes.

The people stared at it, completely frozen and phased by the masterpiece that was done using Juno. An exquisite work that made even the guards drop their weapons in surrender, who were also frightened by the art that was displayed on stage and its artist, "The white-haired bitch." As Jaquer called her, but her name was Vegas.

His eyes had popped out a little from his sockets, his fat belly sucked inward as an instant reaction, and his entire body was as frozen as everyone who was gathered there, as frozen as the snow in the North.

"We all get angry sometimes, don't we guys?" Neil blurted into the thin air, letting out a nervous chuckle.

"Gosh, shut up, Neil." Colt whispered to him.

There was silence again.

"Yuck." Vegas shook Juno, then forcefully pulled him out of his skull. The blood of the man was drying on her face skin, but she rubbed it off with her arm before that could happen, then wiped the dirty blood off Juno with Jaquer's luxurious tunic.

"We truly came here in peace. We still mean it. But he deserved that." Yin finally spoke to the crowd, pointing his finger at the corpse of Jaquer Maclain.

Yin thoroughly scanned the faces of the people in front of him. Innocent people, poor people, children, women, murderers, raiders, r*pers, and maniacs. He saw everyone. Every eye, frozen in fear.

"How many of you have wanted this man to die?" He asked.

And they all stood in utter silence, without giving any sort of reaction. The guards looked like they were ready to run away at any given time. There were hundreds and hundreds of people, yet it was only Yin's voice that echoed through the streets of the city.

But he kept on looking, hoping that there would be someone in the crowd who would put their hand up.

"Me." A soft voice was heard, not from the crowd but elsewhere.

It was towards the right side of the stage.

Jaquer's own steward. The farmer's boy. His eyes were sparking with innocence and filled with so much anger and pain. But he didn't worry about what others thought of him.

His hand was up in the air.

Yin smiled at him and nodded.

Then slowly, one by one, everyone raised their arms in the air, admitting their guilty notions about the ugly-souled Jaquer Maclain, the man they hailed as King.

"Me."

"Me."

"Me too."

It looked like a thousand hands were thrown up in the sky; it looked like freedom; it revealed the harsh amount of hate the people shrouded within themselves so they would not die at the hands of Jaquer.

Yin jumped from face to face, shaking his head in disappointment. "These poor and innocent people, what all could they have gone through?" He intensely thought to himself.

"We are so sorry for treating you like that!" A group of voices cried from within the crowd, and Yin searched for them.

"We beg for your forgiveness." They pleaded to Yin and his crew.

Yin's eyes caught the group of men.

They were the ones who hurled those rocks at him.

"No! Don't be. If we were led by someone like Jaquer, we would've behaved the same way." Yin sympathetically comforted them.

They continued crying.

"We all beg for forgiveness!"

Almost everyone fell to their naked knees on the hot ground.

"My people! I'm in no position to forgive or rule over you, nor was that my intention." He said that and took a breath before continuing.

"I've said this a million times. We've not come to hurt anyone. I'm just a desperate soul, and I come in search of help." Yin paused as he heard a response.

"We will help you with anything!" He heard a chorus.

Yin looked at them with a worried face.

"It is not just anything." He said.

And immediately, the people were confused and silenced by the statement.

"What do you mean?" They asked him after a brief moment of taking it in.

"As I said before, this war could entirely destroy the Realm. And it's because of me. It's because of the God who lives inside me. And I don't want people to suffer because of me, not anymore. Not anymore." Yin ended firmly.

"I want to unite the Realm as one. No division, no more wars against each other. We must all stand together. I am a God, but I don't want anyone to praise me." Yin ended.

"So what is it that you want, Yin Kang?!" They questioned him from all corners.

"I want you all to stand with me when the war nears. As long as I'm there, no one can get hurt. I mean it." He promised.

"But that is just impossible!" Someone from the crowd yelled.

"Here. This is Lars, A kid you all despise for betraying. But do any of you know the truth? He had a friend named Bucky who was the original holder of that ring. But some greedy guards found them and killed Bucky for the ring. Fortunately, the ring fell into the right hands. Lars is now the chosen Mage. We all thought Mages were just folklore and myths. But here he is."

"There. That's Tara Elykis. Another Mage. A female Mage. We thought that was not possible, but here she is. We all thought the Moon Goddess of the North was real. But when we went there ourselves, we found out that it was just Kontello's wife who was buried up there."

He took a breath and said the last few words.

"Sometimes what we think is impossible can be a blatant reality. And other times, what we think is real could just be a fairytale." Yin ended his masterful monologue with the quote.

"I didn't want to do this and scare you all."

He paused and said,.

"Let me show you."

Yin's body slowly lifted in the air, and he kept going.

The crowd felt their heartbeats stop momentarily, their eyes opened wide.

"Let me remind you again. I am a God, but don't bow to me." Yin spoke as he freely levitated in the air.

But the people were already bowing to him, and Yin understood that what people believed in was out of his control, even though he was God himself.

"We bow to you, Yin Kang!"

They hailed him.

The East was Yin's now, and the people of Wolkcaster cried joyously.
