Kabanata 15

Yes. Robots through my parents' large inheritance, I used most of it to fund my study on how to make a robot. Not just a robot, the type of robot called Android.

I have this dream of creating an Android who looks like a human. It was an impossible dream, yes but because I'm willing to make it happen, I will do it now.

And so for many months, I have researched, build, tested and fail. Repeat.

My life was not like any other. My friends helped me through the years and thankful of them. They had to study at college too. And yet, both of them, were there with me always.

Ryn became a parent to me. She feeds me and take care of my needs.

While, Alfred, became my protector and my strength. He usually flirts with me but not the way he wants to be with me again.

He's just as playful as before. We were clear about being just friends. He respected that and became more closer to me.

I would've starved and make myself too overworked without them. Yes. Truly mga tunay ko silang mga kaibigan.

I'm an orphaned girl. But, that doesn't mean, I need to feel hopeless and give up on leaving.

My parents were my life and treasure. The accident still hurt when I remember it. But, I fought through, not just because of my friends, but because I am the type who never gives up at the last minute.

I just can't die now.

And so, here I am with Demetria and getting to know her. I first knew her at our church, she was a co-parishioner.

I thought she was a guy named Kenno.

But here she was a girl and the Kenno I knew is a girl. She was tortured and bullied by homophobic teens at their village.

Poor her. Fortunately, she found her way in here. I don't know why she let them mistreat her. She just becomes a empty shelled human. We were talking earlier, she told me this, "I am eternally grateful for your care and worry, but I must go."

I stopped her, "Please stay, you look like you need someone to share your burdens."

I patted the side of the sofa where I instructed her to sit.

She hesitated but sat next to me. And she did share me her burdens.

Nakiramay ako sa kanyang mga hinaing. As usual, nahawa ako sa mood ng storya niya.

Her pain is not as hurting as mine.

We have different tolerance anyways.

"May ipapakita ako sayo," sabi ko habang hinila siya patayo at ni-lead siya sa laboratory ko ulit.

I made her stay standing, in front a wall.

"This is my most precious treasure yet."

Nang sabihin ko iyon, I manually pressed a remote control and the wall opened.

It behind the wall is a fiber glass tube. As large as a human coffin. The only difference is the coffin is see-through and has someone in it. Not a dead person.

"Bakit ka may patay dito?" I smiled when she asked. "He's not a dead body! He's my treasure!"

Demi gave me a confused look.

"Demi, meet my android, Dimitri." Yes, I have finally succeeded creating my own version of android robot.

"Come closer, Demi." Sabi ko sa kanya. And when she came closer, I went behind her and made her wear Virtual Reality headgear.

She didn't resist the headgear and even got confused the second she realized what it was for.

"Why am I looking at myself?" I smirked.

"You are not looking at yourself, Demi. "

I paced towards the glass coffin. "Dimitri is looking at you."

From then on, Dimitri the android became my butler with Demi controlling him.

The more I think of them being completely compatible with one another, the more I want to further my research on robots.

But, as I was planning everything in my head.

Dimitri and I got transferred at The Kingdom.

In there we lived for months until I got out.

I never thought being in there, made me realize that I can have a family even without being connected by blood.

I earned more people to care and care for me too. I couldn't be any happier.
