Chapter 10 You are a Monster!

The room was filled with nothing but the sound of heavy breathing and a racing heartbeat. It felt as if the walls were closing in, suffocating Alayna and stealing the very air from her lungs. A shiver ran through her chest, an emotion too overwhelming to suppress any longer. Lev stood before her, a barren desert of uncertainty and unanswered questions.

"Answer me, Alayna!" Lev's voice pierced the tense atmosphere.

"You mean Dafa?" Alayna's voice trembled, like a fragile leaf caught in a fierce gust of wind. "No, he is not. Why do you think he's my boyfriend?" Confusion danced in her glassy eyes, reflecting her inner turmoil.

"Don't lie to me!" Lev's voice boomed, filled with pain and seething anger.

Alayna clutched her throat, trying to quell the rising anxiety. "I'm not lying! Dafa is just a friend, a colleague. There's nothing special between us. He's a good person, and he even suggested that I talk to you."

Lev studied her with an inscrutable gaze. Though his face was bathed in light, his expression betrayed doubt.

"So, you're praising him now? How commendable," Lev replied with a hint of sarcasm, a smile tinged with deep dissatisfaction playing on his lips.

Taking a deep breath, Alayna fought to maintain her composure. Her gaze briefly wandered from Lev as she collected her thoughts. At that moment, her eyes fixated on her nails, as if they held more importance than this conversation.

"What's the problem with that? It's not what you think. Besides, why do you even care? Our marriage isn't real," Alayna retorted, her tone low but laced with piercing questions. She raised her face, her eyes locking onto Lev's with a fiery glare.

Lev appeared slightly taken aback, her sharp response catching him off guard. Confusion and anger mingled in his gaze as he cast it from Alayna to the corner of the room, desperately searching for an elusive answer.

"Why must you be so angry?" Alayna queried, her voice soft but cutting.

Lev held Alayna's gaze with a weighty stare, his expression a tempest of emotions. His lips pressed tightly together as if restraining the words that yearned to escape. After several deep breaths, he finally responded, "I don't care about you! I just don't want you anywhere near that man. I hate him!"

His words echoed in the room like an explosion. The impact of Lev's words struck Alayna like a bolt of lightning slicing through the air.

"Why do you hate him? What has he done to you?" Alayna asked, her voice filled with genuine confusion. She longed to understand the roots of Lev's profound animosity towards this man.

Lev's gaze momentarily shifted to the room's ceiling, a feeble attempt to contain his anger. "Do not contradict me, Alayna! You cannot defame me. You cannot be close to him. Period."

"I don't intend to defame you, Lev. I simply want to understand. What truly happened? If you believe you are in the right, we must have an open discussion about it," Alayna responded honestly, her eyes locked onto Lev's, searching for a glimmer of light behind the darkness veiling his eyes filled with hatred.

Lev looked uncertain, drew in a deep breath, and finally asked, "Do you really want to know?"

Alayna's steady nod affirmed her readiness to hear Lev's story, her anticipation growing as she prepared for what lay ahead. "Yes, Lev. I want to know," she replied, her voice filled with curiosity.

"Because he's a traitor. Just like his mother! A slut!" Lev said with deep emotion, his voice echoing in the room. Those words sounded filled with hatred and hurt from the past.

Suddenly, a surge of anger coursed through Alayna. Her body trembled, and a fiery response ignited within her. "How dare you label his mother like that, Lev!" Alayna exclaimed.

Before Alayna could act on her impulse to strike Lev, he swiftly intercepted her, using his strong hands to block her movements. His grip was firm, exhibiting a power that restrained her, leaving her with no choice but to confront the situation within the confines of his control.

"So, you want to play rough with me, huh? You want me to do it again with you like that night?" Lev's voice dripped with condescension as he brought up those haunting memories.

Alayna felt as if time stopped when Lev admitted that he knew about that night. Her breath hitched, and her eyes widened in sheer shock, unable to comprehend Lev's confession. The flickering light of the table lamp seemed to mimic the erratic beats of her racing heart.

"How... How did you know? I believed you were drunk, that none of it was intentional," Alayna managed to choke out, her voice trembling with a mix of fear and disbelief. Waves of uncontrollable emotions surged within her, threatening to engulf her.

Lev's laughter, sinister and malevolent, filled the room with an overwhelming darkness. "Oh, how innocent," he sneered, his satisfaction palpable in every word.

For a moment, everything appeared to freeze. The dim glow of the table lamp served as a silent witness to the tense power struggle unfolding between Alayna and Lev.

Alayna felt mixed vibrations inside her. Anger welled up within them, but also unimaginable confusion. She felt like she was caught in a trap net spread by Lev Halton.

"You're a monster!"

Alayna's voice trembled with a mixture of anger and pain as her accusations pierced the air like a sharp blade. Her fingers curled into fists, her knuckles white against the storm of emotions that churned within her.

"I hope you rot in hell for what you did."

Her words dripped with venom, hanging in the air like an irreversible curse. The room crackled with an electric tension as her eyes blazed with defiance and an unwavering thirst for justice. The intensity of her emotions was palpable, radiating from her every pore.

"Damn! I like that!" Lev's response was unexpected, a twist of emotions that caught Alayna off guard. His lips curled into a half-smile that held an unsettling hint of amusement. It was as if her anger had provided him with some twisted satisfaction, a confirmation of his influence over her.

Alayna's brow furrowed as she tried to process Lev's reaction. Her words were meant to lash out at him, to make him understand the depth of her pain, not to entertain him. The atmosphere cracked with tension, like a storm about to break.

"You're sick, you know that?" Alayna retorted, her voice heavy with disgust.

"You know me better now, Alayna."

Lev's voice remained eerily calm, exuding a confidence that sent shivers down her spine. There was an unsettling aura about him as if he believed he could manipulate any situation to his advantage.

"Ugh! Let me go!" Frustration surged like a tidal wave within Alayna, her anger fueling her determination to break free from the emotional shackles tightened by Lev. She struggled against his grip, her body writhing in defiance.
