The smile on Penelope's face washed away. She turned to look at her mother and tried to make her stand up for her, "Mother listen to him. I just made a small comment and that too out of concern for Miss Ariana, why is Emil treating me as if I had said something wrong?"
Kaylyn's lips were set in a thin line, even though she believed that Penelope meant no harm, she could not help but blame her slightly. Emil was indeed correct, Ariana suffered in place of Penelope, so the least Penelope could do was to treat her with courtesy.
The way she spoke was incorrect and improper.
However, Kaylyn still held herself back and said to Penelope, "Go to your room, Penny. I know that you are having trouble wrapping your head around this matter. We will talk about this once Ari wakes up."
Though she didn't force Penelope, her tone was crisp and firm leaving no room to retort.
