PROLOGUE

My mother always told me since I was little that only the brave would look death in the eye and push it away. To her, no situation was above survival and I guess she instilled that survivor instinct in me. Some of my friends thought I was generally insecure of all things and had to change my ways into relaxing more. They never knew that one day, this same survivor instinct was what was going to save me from the hands of death.

My name is Chukwuka Chidnma Getrude. I am from Nigeria and only Sixteen years old. I attend Ile Iwe Secondary School, Agege, Lagos, Nigeria. When you read this book to the end, you will understand that a free mind can overcome anything, but a mind with fear dies before it is killed.
