"Don't You Trust Me?"

"STOP IT" His voice cried out. "Don't do this. it's too dangerous. "

He held my hand tightly and forbidded me from leaving.

"Don't you trust me? I'll be fine." I say letting go of his tight grasp. Adam's eyes were red from the tears he cried and his smile had faded. He looked at me with no hope in his heart. Though his sad face had torn my heart, I felt like it was my duty to go and be apart of the movement.

"i trust you, but know i won't listen to you anymore if you return home with a single scratch on your face." he warned before retreating to his bedroom where he can attempt to pull himself together before our mother returned home.

"I'll be fine Adam. i hope." I whispered doubtful of my survival.

I wore my mask and my long black trench coat before leaving the house. My phone rang. I declined it.

The streets were raging and roaring like a tiger let loose. The people were rioting and causing chaos. Fire and broken peaces of glass covered the floor. The air was thick and it was hard to focus. Not a single face is distinguishable. All i can hear is are screams, sirens and laughter.

"THE POLICE ARE COMING. GET READY!" one of the rioters shouted. i pull out my smoke grenade from my pocket.

"MASKS ON. WE ARE NOT LOSING TODAY!" I shouted. The screams were silenced. I watched as all of rioters pulled out their masks and tied them on. Once everyone was ready, a flare was shot into the air signalling us to begin the war.

I released the pin and watched the grenade do its magic. The screams of the policemen made me smile that day. They deserved it for what they did to us. I think father would be proud if he saw me today.

From the other side of the road, I saw tall, curvy, brunette. Her hair was in braids but they got dirty from all rioting she did, yet her melanin-rich skin shines amongst the darkness.

Her mask covered her face apart from her stunning emerald green eyes. You could tell she was smiling from how her sparkling eyes squinted.

i was distracted. I couldn't stop thinking about the girl on the other side of the road. I kept staring and didn't notice my surroundings. The Police came closer and closer to the girl yet I was too distracted to notice. All i saw was the fact that she stopped smiling...

But by then, it was too late. Blood poured from her left arm. Glass was still trapped in the wound. The police man holding the broken bottle laughed at her. Tears formed in her eyes. The police man twisted her arm and made sure the glass dug deeper into the wound. He hit her head with the bottle. Making sure she would gain unconsciousness. She dropped to the ground. He dragged her by her left arm. The one without the wound. Her right arm was exposed to infection and blood loss.

My blood was boiling. I ran towards the police man. Running at speeds i never knew i could do. I had to get to her before he kills her. He was slower then me as it is harder to run when your dragging a body. My vision blurred. I felt my blood stream down my neck. Suddenly the chaos was silenced and all light was drained from my sight.
