Mason rolled his eyes with a grin before he turned towards the painting, a look of confusion crossing his face as he glanced back at Bai before walking over to the painting.

It was a painting of the imperial palace which sat atop an enormous rock formation with several buildings of different sizes. It looked very much like a real location from ancient Xina which Mason had only seen in paintings before.

"The Imperial Palace? How sure are you that your brother is held captive there?" Mason asked with a frown as he glanced over his shoulder at Bai. He noticed her expression falter at his question before she looked away, avoiding eye contact with him as she bit her lip in frustration.

"Before I found my way here, I was attacked by masked bandits while consulting only a few minutes after I had found a powerful shaman to locate my brother's whereabouts in that forsaken land!" She replied angrily as she began to fume with anger.

Mason walked over to her and grabbed her shoulders gently to stop her pacing before wrapping his hands around her for a hug. "Don't worry about it, Bai," he said calmly as he held her tightly in his embrace before letting go and stepping away from her.

Bai looked up at him with a bright smile on her face as she wiped her tears away before smiling back at him shyly as she straightened up her posture. "I... I don't know how they found me... I had managed to fend some off and flee—well... with the clothes I had worn at the garden—but what those people didn't know was that the shaman had vaguely revealed he would be transferred there in a few hours!" She replied as she bit her lip in worry before looking downwards at his hand as she took it gently on her own, "I'm just so afraid that he might be in danger, the shaman warned of a great evil lurking around him..."

"If he survived decades in captivity then I'm sure he will survive another few days..." Mason replied with a comforting smile as he leaned down to kiss Bai on the forehead, "we should get some sleep, tomorrow is a big day."
