I was led to a room on the third floor of the building. This floor wasn't usually accessed by adventurers; here, I only saw people who worked in the guild's administration.
The receptionist guided me to a room where an elderly man sat waiting. He had a long white beard and wore round spectacles. Just by looking at him, I could tell he was a learned and wise man who knew a great deal about life.
"Sir," the receptionist said respectfully, "I apologize for the interruption, but could you please examine an insignia I received? I want to know if it's authentic."
The man looked at us and said in a calm voice, "Of course. Please, show me the insignia."
From the way he reacted, it seemed like this was a common occurrence. Did many people try to gain benefits with fake insignias?
