Chapter 18: Team Benbert

The next morning, 6:55 AM.

Allen stood in front of the City hunter's office on the hunter's street waiting for his teammates.

The streets of the hunter's street are very wide with enough width for 3-4 vehicles to pass by. There are 2 such roads and coupled with the wide footpaths to accommodate all the people coming in and out of the shops, they are the widest roads Allen had ever seen.

Today he wore the camouflage combat suit and carried a big backpack with him.

They agreed to meet here at 7 AM today.

After 2 minutes of waiting, a big maglev car came to stop beside him on the magnetic line. The car is very big that it almost looked like a truck. It was all black in color and All 4 doors of the car opened and 5 people came out of it one after another. There are 2 women and 3 men along with a big red dog.

A short and stout middle aged man came out of the front left door and another middle aged man carrying a sword came out of the front right door.

The other 3 people are very young and seemed to be in their twenties.

The young man carried a shield on his back.

One the women was nearly 170cm tall and had a ponytail. She dyed her hair with a brownish hue. She carried a bow and a quiver of arrows behind her back. There are also a variety of short knives and kunai. In short, she looked like a beautiful rose with thorns everywhere.

The other girl is somewhat short around 160cm tall and had short red hair. She had red eyes and carried a assault rifle and a laser pistol.

Allen recognized as soon as they got off the car.

The details sent by the rookie hunter program included their pictures and their basic details.

The short and stout middle aged man is Mr. Bennett who should be the captain of this team. There is not much mentioned about his strength other than the fact that he is in organ refining realm.

The same goes for vice captain Albert who is carrying a sword and the other three members are in peak bone refining realm just a step away from organ refining realm.

After getting out of the car, Bennett observed his surroundings and quickly locked onto Allen who is looking at them.

He then went straight to Allen and said "Hello Allen. My name is Bennett and he is Albert."

After that he pointed at the young guy and said, "He is Malcolm, she is Ariel and she is Cristy." while pointing at the Ponytailed girl and the red haired girl respectively.

"We are team Benbert. 'Ben' from Bennett and 'bert' from Albert. we are brothers and are the founders of the team."

"Alright! let's complete report to the Mr. Javid from the rookie hunter program and we can be one our way to wilderness. We can discuss other things along the way." saying so, he started walking towards the City hunter's office and the team hurriedly followed behind him.

Following the way pointed by the receptionist, the team went to a room at the end of the corridor and entered after knocking the door.

The room is neither big nor small and is spacious enough to accommodate a dozen people at a time.

Inside the room, there was a young man with black hair in a suit sitting behind the desk while working on a computer.

Noticing the entrance of the team, he stopped his work and stood up to greet the captain with a handshake.

After the pleasantries, they quickly got to work and after both the team members and Allen signed on a form to confirm their participation in the rookie hunter program.

After the official procedure is completed, the aura around Mr. Javid suddenly changed and he looked seriously into the eyes of Mr. Bennett and said, "Mr. Bennett, I hope everything will be alright with your trip and you will take good care of everyone. Do remember that the you will receive enough contribution points for participating in this program and please do what you need to do. Thank you, now you can leave."

Even though, everything was put very nicely, everyone can feel the underlying threat behind it. Mr. Bennett slightly trembled and hurriedly reassured that he will take of everything and got out of the room.

After getting out of the room, all the members of the team are silent and they hurriedly went back to the car parked outside the office and everyone got into it.

Allen got into the back of the car with everyone. The car was wide enough and it was very spacious for 4 people to sit together and could even accommodate 2 more people.

He sat beside Malcolm and Ariel and Cristy sat together.

After sitting in the car, everyone in the team slightly relaxed and started talking again.

Cristy started patting her non-existent chest and said, "The atmosphere around Mr. Javid is still so terrible. It felt as if I was being stared by a scary monster."

"Yeah! He always becomes very scary in matters regarding rookie hunters. There was even a rumour that he had a little sister who was harmed by rookie hunter program when he was a kid." replied Malcolm.

Looking at Allen, he then said with a smile, "Don't worry. Our team never forces rookies to do anything against their will. You can rest assured. Just follow us and everything will be alright."

Ariel and Cristy nodded their heads to express their agreement with that. Allen felt his heart settle upon hearing that.

He heard that sometimes some teams use the rookies in their team as baits and scouts in the wilderness and they could even get away with that.

But, such cases reduced a lot over the past decade when the Hunter's association started cracking down on these cases. They also imposed very strict punishments if any team was found guilty doing such things.

Soon, they started talking about other things and the three people started giving Allen Instructions about the various things he need to keep in mind while hunting monsters and their basic team formation.

In this team, captain Bennett is the main attacker and always confronts the monsters head on while the Vice captain Albert mainly focuses on harassing the monsters with his fast speed. He is the scout for the team and mainly uses swords.

Malcolm is a shied warrior and is good at taking the attacks from the monsters. He is also good with legs and can deliver swift kicks if necessary.

Alice and Cristy are both long ranged warriors. Alice mainly focuses on focused fire like a sniper with a bow and she is also good with her close combat with knives. Crist suppresses monster with sporadic and quick shots.

Looking at the team and their roles, Allen felt that this was balanced team with both close combat and long ranged attackers and a solid tank.

Soon, 5 minutes passed and the team reached the south city gate.

The city gate is very thick and nearly 10 meters high. He couldn't even hope to see what was on the other side.

After producing the necessary documents and their hunter licenses, The city guards let their car go after scanning the vehicle.

Outside of the city is a barren land which appeared to be flattened. After travelling around a kilometer or so along the wilderness, the maglev car suddenly sprouted wheels from the bottom and started going by land.

seeing Allen's confusion, Malcolm replied, " There are no magnetic lines after entering the wilderness and the car can only travel by land. we can only use the car in the periphery and if we want to go deeper, the dense trees will restrict out car a lot and we will be in danger."

"So, normally if people want to go deeper, they either go by walk or by some special hovercars or aircrafts."

Suddenly, captain Bennett said from the front," Alright, we are almost near the wilderness. Everyone be alert."

After that, vice captain Albert slowly stopped the car and after everyone got out of the car, he presses a button in the car the car slowly turned flat and drilled some rods into the ground. The upper surface of the car was completely covered in metal and it almost became like a metal block.

Allen also knew that the cars used by hunters in the wilderness are prone to attacks from the monsters and the automobile companies mainly focused on these issues and there are many different types of cars available in the market with some quirky functions.

"Alright, Everyone mark the location of the car in their comm and we will move on after everyone checks their supplies once again."

After everyone checked their supplies and gear and making sure that everything was alright, they started moving in the direction of wilderness in a team formation.

Albert was in the front followed by Bennett and Malcom in the second row. Allen is protected in the middle and both Ariel and Cristy are in the back.
