AWAKENED

The sweet savor of the atmosphere became my air to breathe at that moment, I felt the universe was speaking up for me.

"What! can believe you staying around here" I was speechless but that was all I could say.

"Me too, what are you doing here," she said

"OH, I always come here from time to time to take pictures of nature"

I was glad I came out, seeing her again with a different look was awakening for me

We laughed together; she grabbed my camera to look at some shots of mine.

"Wow!! These are lovely, you should sell them on shutter stock or Foap"

I was so excited to see that we both are talking together without any encumbrances, forgetting what she was saying all along.

"How about the tour, were you able to do that?" I asked

She felt a bit upset, but I wasn't sure if she was,

"Never mind," she said still scrolling to see some more pictures, I was worried that she gave a senseless reply over what I was so interested in, and I wondered why she did.

"What's the problem?" I was curious to know her movement with Junior but she kept on bluffing without showing it out.

"I need to get going now" she gave me my camera and waive goodbye.

This can't be happening we only just met a few minutes ago and she was leaving, I rushed out on her feeling bad that I was unable to keep her company for an hour.

"Why are you rushing home, the sun is still up," I asked trying to touch her hands but she relented.

"You acted dumb when I complimented your photos" she smirked and hissed after saying such.

"You complimented them? I never knew, was carried away by your beauty, was just gazing at God's creation" indeed those words popped out without a thought of it.

She blushed a bit, then calmed herself down

"Okay, am sorry I never heard you"

"Is all good though, I need to get going and you should delete those pictures you took of me"

With that, she left almost immediately after she came.

That was too quick, I tried stopping her but she was already rolling her bike off from the wood, then I quickly rushed in to get mine and follow suit, but she was already gone by the time I could get a hold of her.

How time flies for just a second, I was calmly talking to her and happy I came out and here all alone in my thoughts.

I left for home without adhering to her request to delete those pictures of hers.

On getting home I was surprised that my senior brother had come for a short break as he said, my mind was speedy up to tell him about Zina but I was too broken to let it out.

"Zack! You're here, what brings you home so early" I said gazing at him while I took out an apple for a bite, my mum was in the kitchen trying to prepare dinner while my dad was with him in the living room feeling less concerned over my question.

He's always happy to see Zack each time he comes back due to the games they watch together and the atmosphere it brings to him.

"Come on, I missed you guys, will be gone by next tomorrow," he said smacking his dad who felt excited that he came.

After much discussion as a family, I went upstairs to prepare for classes while

I scrolled out those pictures of hers and saved them on my laptop, consciously looking at her beauty and thinking about the eleven minutes we spent together making goosebumps all around my skin, I needed to know more about this young girl, I said to myself.

Then I rushed out of the room for dinner.

I was up as early as I can remember with the thought of seeing Zina at school today.

"Wow! Someone woke up early, what's the occasion" my mum looked at me while saying those words, she knew am not an early bird, in fact, she always almost all the time had to drag me up to shower for school, and sometimes she begs me to stop reading all through the night but I was relented over it.

"Nothing mom! just yielding to your advice" I said with a shrouded shoulder.

"Now that's more like it, ha!" she smiled deeply as she dished the scrambled eggs and toasted bread on the plate.

"Morning fellas, how was your night" Zack screamed out loud as he stood by the staircase watching my mum and me eating, he came down and pecked my mum while giving me a high five.

"Zack, what are you up to today," my mum asked

"Nothing, just playing video games and chilling out with my gangs" he laughed grabbing a juice from the fridge to drink.

"Okay mum, am off to school" kissed her and left.

I was too excited to wait for my friends, so I drove off to school without calling out to them.

I got to school with much exuberance and fresh breath like I had dived into the ocean that morning and got rejuvenated by it, there I sighted from afar. Walking elegantly as she always does.

"Guy, you ghost us yesterday at your place and refuse to come to pick us too" Richard groaned.

"My guy, what's going on" Derrick was worried looking at me, but I was so unconscious of my surrounding, all I was concentrating on was her elegant footsteps and waiting for her to get close to me so I can get myself acquainted with her.

Derrick shocked my shoulder to bring me back to reality.

"Oh, am sorry guys, how long have you been here" I was lost in thought.

"What has come over you guy" Richard was pissed about my silent treatment.

"Guys, please I need to go, will talk to you too later" bye" I left immediately seeing that she was close to the entrance.

"Hey you, are you just coming?" I jumped into her like a monkey climbing a tree.

"Oh, hello," she said slowly like she had seen a ghost.

I smiled at her "How was your night" that didn't come out right

"Sorry, I mean, are you still doing the tour?"

" Oh, that!"

" I can do it with you if you don't mind"

She scoffed a bit "EEhh, am not interested in the whole tour thing, anymore"

Just there we were about to continue our romantic conversation, Junior bumped into her like a log of wood thrown at someone.

"Hey, babe! Didn't know you had a company" he was so arrogant saying such in my presence.

"well, this is Zucha, you should know him," she said smiling at him as she committed whatsoever to him.

"Please to meet you, okay, let's roll," he said taking her hard almost immediately with him as they left hurriedly, she turned and waved goodbye.

"What a scum, calling her babe" I sniffed "What nerve" I pondered over the whole scenario and hoped that she hasn't fallen for him already.
