After lunch, which Aria filled with her happy chatter, Sofia was making her way back towards her room when loud voices coming from a door on her left had her stopping in her tracks.
"—needs to let of this stupid obsession of his," a man was saying.
"Yes. I have never seen him act this way over a woman. The bird has not chirped either. Nothing seems to be going right," another voice that sounded an awful lot like Gabriel's replied.
What woman?
And bird? What bird?
"Yeah. The fucker's too tight lipped. It'll sure be fun to break him in," the other man whose voice Sofia didn't recognise said.
Gabriel laughed. "Of course. Let's go have some fun, then."
Sofia frowned at what she had overheard, but quickly realised that the two were going to walk out of the door she was standing near and made a run for it, climbing the stairs a few feet away from her as quickly as possible.
