5. A bad-tempered Grim reaper

He called her characters of her name, one by one and the tone didn't sound friendly at all. Looking at his hostile expression, YiMing could tell that he wasn't being friendly at all.

"Uh..."She looked away from his piercing glare and looked around some more. She knew asking him further questions might be a risk to her dear life so she saved them up for next time. Or so. She didn't even dare ask how he knew her name?

Oh well, he was a reaper after all!

"Miss Wu, don't you have questions?" He glared at her, folding his hands. His eyes still as cold.

"No...no...I'll skip" She shuttered, avoiding his eyes. She ran a hand through her long smooth black hair, still feeling awkward.

"It's Okey that you don't want to ask. Because I'll tell you anyways" He spoke harshly and too directly!

"Miss Wu - Yi - Ming, you committed the unforgivable crime of using your abilities to die in place of someone destined to die, thereby tricking us and making our jobs seem like a joke. Because of thia crime of yours, you've messed with the balance of life and death" He said.

"...." YiMing was mute.

"Miss Wu - Yi - Ming, don't you have anything to say?" He questioned, still glaring at her with an unaffected attention.

She slowly brought her eyes to look at him. His gaze had sent shivers down her spine. "Uh.... Sorry?"

"Sorry? An apology is not even close to 1% compensation for the trouble you cased to my professionalism. But I guess there's nothing to do anyways, because we'll be seeing each other more often now" He said.

"Huh?" She expressed, shocked "Why.... why is that...so?" She asked. It would be horror being around an abnormal being in her already abnormal life! And not to mention a rude one!

He looked at her " Do you Think I like seeing you ?" He raised a brow. "But it's a punishment For the silly games you played. And now, You'll be meeting me more often, and I'll make you pay... Little by little" He said in a tone that seemed threatening to YiMing.

YiMing bit her lips. could her life get any worse?! Just when she was about dying and leaving her miserable life behind, she is saved again and her agony doubled.

Just then, she recalled her friend "And.... since I'm back to life... what about my friend? Where's she?" she was curious.

"Oh, you mean the one you Wanted to die in place of? of course she's still alive" He said as YiMing gave a gasp of relief

"But not for long, Because I'm waiting for death to meet her again, and then I'll get her death card. Then I'll set things straight, One who is already set to die can't continue wondering around for long. it'll rather be a disaster to the nature of life and death"

YiMing was shocked "But... do you have to kill her?! Can't you just let her off this time?" YiMing asked. She seemed deeply concerned.

His eyes were still on her "You're still asking for more than you can. Aren't you even grateful that you lived?" He questioned.

"My life makes no meaning. It's of no importance, If I can save my friend, then I'll be relieved". YiMing sighed, looking into thin air. Her expression had become sad and deep "She's my only friend. To me my only companion and source of hope. She's the only person who stands up to me no matter what, she's like the only person I have " YiMing looked at The Grim reaper.

"I might have done something to annoy you...You might hate me, but I'd be really grateful and glad, if you'll fulfill this only wish of mine...And let her off this time. it'll mean everything to me...I'd gladly do as you wish... Please" she looked at him with a pathetic and pitiful expression. One that clearly showed sadness.

The Grim reaper was Still looking at her, But his expression was unchanged. He didn't seem to feel sentimental about what YiMing expressed.

"The law of life and death is one of many guilding the earth and it's stability towards humans. So no matter what, no matter who, this law can't be changed or overlook for anyone..So don't even think of pleading, it'll be useless"

Now YiMing Knew this guy was as well ruthless. How emotionless he was! No sympathy at all!

If there was no way of reasoning with him, she guessed she'd have to take matters into her hand " since you won't listen to what I have to say... I guess I'll have to do it myself"

"What are you going to do?" He Asked.

"NaYin is the closest person I have...so I won't let anyone take her away.. Not even death" YiMing Said.

Looking at the determined Young lady, he couldn't help but "Tsk"

"Good luck then, I'm not even going to intervene in your madness and stupid acts. I'm only going to wait for her card to appear, then I'll get ready to come get her"

Gosh! His heartlessness was really getting YiMing worried. How can she even cope with such person?

A knock came on the door as YiMing looked up. "Uh.. yeah?" She replied as the door opened. The nurse and NaYin walked in.

A smile escaped YiMing's lips, she felt relieved seeing NaYin still okey "NaYin...."

"Oh my MingMing, Are you okey? Sorry I didn't come earlier, just got the news" NaYin came to stand before YiMing looking at her hospitalized Friend, worried. "I'm so sorry.."

"It's okey...It has nothing to do with you"

"I shouldn't have let you off to buy it. It's my fault" NaYin blamed herself.

"No... it's not. I was just careless, besides, it's nothing much. I'm feeling much better already"

NaYin looked over at the nurse who was checking her drip " How's she?"

"She's okey. Luckily nothing serious" The nurse confirmed adjusting the drip.

"That's good" NaYin smiled at her friend. "But...when we were Outside about to come in....we were hearing your voice...Who were you talking to?" she looked around

" Well he..."YiMing Stiffened. Her eyes went to where The Grim reaper sat, glaring at her. He raised a brow. YiMing Guessed they couldn't see him! " well...I was talking to myself" she smiled.

The Grim reaper reluctantly got up to his feet. He knew he had to leave them to their privacy as he walked out of the room, passing through the door.

YiMing watched him leave.

"What are you looking at?"NaYin asked.

"Oh... Nothing" YiMing covered up with a smile.

The Grim reaper walked out of the room through the door as he sighed. He guessed his life was going to be more noisy and troublesome. And it worried him.

He felt something as he opened his palm, a black card appeared in his hands...
