Chapter 26

"Looks like you finally understand your position." Huan said as he smirked at Lin.

"Damn you." Lin said as she glared at him.

"Take these files and burn them, unless you want your family's reputation to plummet." Huan said to her as he walked away from her.

He exited the room and closed the door as Lin clenched her fists in anger. Her chi dissipated as she went and sat on her bed with a frustrated look on her face as she held her face in her hands.

"What the hell am I supposed to do now?" Lin said to herself in frustration.

While this was happening at the hotel where Wen and Yan were sitting, the atmosphere was a bit awkward to say the least. After Lin left the two didn't talk as Yan was too nervous to say anything while Wen had no problem with the silence he is experiencing.

"Um, brother, what are you doing now?" Yan asked him nervously.

"Nothing much but I am getting by without any hitch. It probably helps that Huan is not there trying to make my life harder." Wen said as he looked at her.

"I... I see. Can you... come home?" Yan asked him nervously.

Wen looked at her at that question and she shrinked into herself when she saw his gaze.

"No. I see no particular reason why. Weren't you guys happy that I died? After all, I could no longer sully yours or our parents reputation after all." Wen said to her calmly.

"N-No! It's not like that! I... I may have said that but I don't want to lose my brother no matter what. I'm sorry about how I acted and treated you. I know that I should have listened to you instead of always prioritising myself. But, please, I never in my wildest dreams, wanted you to die." Yan said to him with tears in her eyes.

Wen watched as she said her words with a calm gaze. After a few seconds he stood up and pat her head causing her body to go rigid as she felt his hand on her head. Though he didn't have any malicious intent and was giving her a gentle pat which managed to calm her down a bit as she remembered the times she would get a headpat from him.

"I feel that you are truly remorseful about your actions so I will believe you. But in the current moment I'm not in a mood to see our parents yet. And I hope that you won't rat me out to them." Wen said to her seriously as he removed his hand from her head.

"Y-Yes. I won't." Yan said to him as she nodded her head vigorously.

'I will not my brother's trust.' Yan thought to herself as she looked at him intently.

"Good. Then we can talk some more before going on our way. We also have things to do." Wen said to her as he sat back down.

"Yeah. Right." Yan said a bit saddened as she also sat down.

After that they talked for an hour which helped calm Yan down more. After that the two decided to go their separate ways as Yan was a bit saddened by it.

"We can meet up sometime later. You do have my number after all." Wen said to her as she looked at him.

"Ah, right. Thank you for giving me a chance big brother." Yan said as she bowed to him.

"No problem. Now he safe on your way back." Wen said to her calmly.

"Yes. Thank you again." Yan said as he nodded to her.

He then walked away from her as she watched him leave. She placed her hands over her heart as she smiled lightly.

'Big brother is really back. I'm sorry for everything big brother. I will not make you regret giving me a second chance.' Yan thought to herself as she watched him.

Then she too went on her way though there was a small golden lotus symbol on the back of her neck which glowed a bit before it disappeared. Wen smiled slightly as he was walking as he looked back and saw Yan walking away from him.

'It looks like you have grown Yan. You're not as uptight and arrogant as you used to be. But if I were to forgive you so easily then it wouldn't amount to much. Actions speak louder than words and I want you to work for it and learn about it. At the same time, I will make sure that you will be fine. It is the duty of a big brother to steer his little sister in the right direction.' Wen thought to himself as he smiled slightly.

He then went to his own apartment after buying some groceries before he went to do work in the stock market as he made more money for himself. He also gave donations to various healthcare establishments and others like orphanages to help with their situation.

Even if the government gives them money they are more focused on their economy, their relationship with other nations and such other matter so while they do get the money it isn't much. And due to that he decided to lend in his help in the situation as well.

He also helped the police as well by helping some police officers who were good in heart an opportunity to catch some goons which would help them to rise in rank. He also made the unsavory police officers in the force lose their high ranking position and facilitated things so that people would learn about their bad deeds.

These kinds of things have been happening all around Nantong and many other places in the world. He knew that unlike him most of the higher beings didn't care much about Earth and the mortal World, Buddha being some of the very few who do care about the little guy and want to help them. Which in a sense also helped as Buddhism rose and gave people happiness and a sanctuary from the troubles of the world.

He also learned that the Shaolin Temple acts as it's own government due to the number of powerful cultivators there but their secrets are never let out. He had learned from his time with Buddha and their teachings were given to them by Bodhi, who was in turn taught by Buddha who had then sent the man to China to help them.

Of course, not many in the current world know about it and as far as they are concerned Shaolin is just a martial arts establishment. He also took a look and saw that even the military didn't seem to know about it.

"Well, at least the Shaolin Temple is there to protect the people if any such problems arise." Wen said with a smile as he remembered it.

After Wen was done with his work on his laptop he made food for himself and ate it before he got a message from Jing that his clinic is ready and will be able to be opened tomorrow. Wen smiled when he saw the message before he used his powers to teleport out of his room.

He then appeared in one of the mountains in Malaysia as he looked at the environment around him. His eyes narrowed as he saw Yin energy as he ran towards the source as he followed it. Since it was dark it was the perfect camouflage for him as he didn't have to worry much.

'Why is there so many Yin energy concentrated here of all places?' Wen thought to himself as he followed it fine it's source as he saw a huge black wolf like Beast sitting on top of the source under the ground.

"A wolf that was mutated by Yin energy. That would mean that here was a lot of it." Wen said as he looked at the wolf which is 4 times larger than himself.

He walked to the wolf as it growled at him before it lunged at him with its teeth bared. Wen wasn't fazed by it as he just sidesteppee the attack and grabbed ahold of its tail and pulled it and slammed in on the ground.

The wolf whined from the impact but Wen didn't waste anymore time and then shot a large amount of Yang energy at it. The wolf howled as it's body was covered in light before it's body shrunk back to the size of a normal wolf before the light disappeared.

Wen went to the wolf and saw that it is sleeping as he chuckled a bit. He then went to the concentration of Yin energy and looked at it as it was contaminating the chi flow of the mountain.

"Alright, time to take care of you." Wen said as he placed his hand on the ground.

He then purified the excess Yin energy and allowed the Chi to become stable again as he smiled at it. He also put a bit more Yang energy into it to facilitate growth in the mountain before he teleported away again.

"Hmm, so, another cultivator of my calibre exists huh. He can be a good ally.' A woman said in a seductive voice as she had watched the event happen as she smiled.
