Human Monster

"HAHAHA Get over here!" A barbaric man shouted loudly as he leaped 15 meters in the air towards an indescribable monster.

The monster had countless tentacles with eyes scattered across them, with blood-red skin and tiny human baby arms occasionally branching off the tentacles. Blue lightning sparked with power around the barbaric man, while his eyes lit with bright blue plasma, leaving neon-like stripes and afterimages as he moved.

The monster roared and the man laughed back in response.

They traded blows faster than any common lifeform could see. The tentacles move like whips and the man clashes with them, holding tangible blue lightning in his hands. Their fight caused the surroundings to create shockwaves, destroying much of anything within a 15-mile radius.

Finally, there was a pause as the barbaric man and the monster took a reprieve. The man stood tall with a gigantic smile on his face and blood falling from an open gash wound on his forehead. The wound was swollen with black indescribable material and leaked yellowish puss. The man charged some more electricity between his fingers and pressed it to the wound, frying away any of the contaminants.

*Deep inhale*

The man breathed deeply in satisfaction while looking at the monster in front of him. The monster looked back, with all of its eyes focused on him. One of its tentacles was badly damaged from the fight and hung connected by a thin part as if it was about to be completely severed.

*ROAR*

The monster roared, releasing wave after wave of an invisible mental power. The mental power was so strong that it even distorted the area in reality, causing the sky to turn blood red and eyes to appear in the sky. The eyes in the sky stared at the barbaric man in disdain, as if it was a fool that didn't know heaven from earth.

But in response, the man only laughed louder than ever before.

"HAHAHA," The man laughed, while blue lightning discharged from his entire body.

As if the man, received a signal from the monster releasing its own mental power and distorting the surroundings, he also did the same. A wave of mental power not less than the monsters, was released from the barbaric man. The man's hair transformed into a kind of liquid-flowing blue plasma. It waved in their air as if there were a wind blowing it back for him.

Deep blue solid bolts of energy solidified around him in the air, like crystal kelp weeds at the bottom of the ocean. Lightning arced between these pillars and filled the sky and air on his side of the battlefield with blue electricity. The barbaric man's smile seemed to be made of pure blue plasma as it stretched up farther than his face and into the surrounding air around him.

The monster saw all this and roared, pressing its own mental domain of red sky and eyes against the plasma-filled one. These monsters knew no fear here. It would never run from a fight like the one it faced right now.

"HAHAHA" the man laughed and the creature roared as they once again clashed, ending the fight once and for all.

...

The barbaric man had returned to normal and was sitting next to the monster carcass of the tentacle monster. In front of him was a triangle-shaped object with countless words circling around it. If one listened closely, there were countless whispers emitted from it that might drive someone into madness.

"Hmm."

The man looked at the object in front of him with thought. He pinched his fingers together and pulled them apart to create a thin strand of blue lightning and pressed it against the triangle object. The triangle object buzzed and shook, seemingly rejecting the power that the man pressed against it. However, it couldn't resist the erosion forever and that was what the man counted on.

...

Time passed until 30 Earth days had gone by.

The man had been eroding the triangle each day for more than 8 hours a day until finally the words on the triangle had changed and the whispers vanished completely. Instead, the triangle was now filled with the same blue light as the lightning that the man used and it contained small words in the same language as the previous owners.

In satisfaction, the man took the triangle and pressed it onto his chest. The triangle merged seamlessly into his chest and he felt a qualitative change in himself. The man moved his focus into his mind and focused to find how his 'Path' had evolved with the addition of a new 'piece'. An organized panel appeared in his mind, showing his 'path' and the previous 'pieces' he had gathered.

[Name]: Ronan

[Blue Lightning (Cornerstone)] -> Blue lightning is transformative in nature. Enhance yourself beyond the limits of physical matter.

[Condensation Blue] -> Condense solid lightning with the properties of both matter and energy.

[Mental Domain] -> Manifest your mental power into your surroundings. May affect those of lesser will in unpredictable ways or cause loss of sanity.

*New* [Transformation Blue] -> Condense a strange blue electric wire that can upgrade electronic devices or metallic tools permanently.

Ronan was this man's name and despite his now barbaric looks and wild untamed appearance, he was a normal man 10 years ago. He couldn't remember how he had gotten to this place, but one day he woke up here in his normal work outfit. He was a regular human dressed in a suit and tie sent to a world filled with monsters. Any regular person would be doomed here, especially due to the mental radiation that most of these monsters naturally emitted. They would unconsciously emit whispers that would warp the minds of weaker lifeforms like humans without any conscious attention to them.

Fortunately, or unfortunately, this dimension had recognized Ronan as a naturally born monster of this place. His soul had manifested a 'cornerstone' necessary to start a 'path' and thus was considered a naturally born monster. Each monster had a unique 'cornerstone' formed from their monster soul and it would grant the foundation for their future. The peculiarity of Ronan's 'cornerstone' allowed him to solve many of his immediate issues after arriving in this inhospitable monster dimension.

Food and water? He could charge and transform the molecules in the air into usable substances for his body.

His health and possible sickness? He only needed to circle his plasma throughout his body to purify any foreign substances.

He was able to overcome enough of the problems to survive 10 years here. The lack of lifes pleasures, such as tasty food, caused him to form a battle addiction. In fact, he had never eaten anything since he arrived here 10 years ago.

Ronan's hair was grey and long. It fell down to his shoulders while a scraggly and thick beard covered his chin. His clothing was the same dirty and tattered suit he wore when he arrived here. The suit jacket was mostly intact, but his tie was cut in half and loosely dangled from his neck. If someone were to see him on the street on earth, they might think he was a homeless man who just survived a gang shooting.

Perhaps the only unusual and attractive feature of Ronan's face was his eyes. His eyelashes were long enough to make most girls jealous and his eye color was grey. His grey eyes were the result of a mutation of blue eyes which is exceedingly rare among humans. It was often what the girls he knew complemented him on during introductions. But attractiveness has been the least of Ronan's concerns for the past 10 years, in fact, he barely feels any pleasure now except from the trill of overcoming battles of life and death. He might not even care about relationships anymore.

...

As the mysterious piece was absorbed by Ronan a resonance happened in the space around him. Ronan could sense the change almost immediately as the wasteland-like surroundings changed before his very eyes. He appeared in front of a twisted-looking portal that emitted distorted mental waves. The portal was thick with a bubbling black liquid that resembled tar and it emitted a scent of sulfur coming from the other side.

Ronan a call from his soul, pulling him to move toward the portal. He followed this call without much resistance, after all, there wasn't much for him to do in this place anyway. As he moved closer, the mental radiation emitted from the portal grew stronger and stronger. Whispers grew louder and louder, urging mad ravings into his ears. But they had no effect on him, the pieces in his path formed a resonance that was complete enough to repel the effects.

He stepped closer and closer until he finally was an arm's length away from the portal. Being this close, he felt some information was sent to him by the portal into his mind. The portal told him that entering the portal would completely connect the pieces to the cornerstone in his soul to form his 'foundation'. He would leave this dimension, left to forge his 'path' from the countless worlds.

"Haha, I can finally leave?! Great!" Ronan laughed loudly and jumped into the portal without hesitation.

The black tar swallowed him whole and let out a burp-like sound before the portal shut down again, returning the room to complete quiet.
