Death was standing right in front of him and if he didn't act fast it would be all over for him, think, come on think!

'ding'

A window appeared in the corner of his view. There, that's how he'll beat it. It's not much, but it'll give him a chance.

The spider approached cautiously, quite aware of how crafty it's pray is. But the human didn't move, it just stood there. Had it given up? No, it did this before… It's going to wait for me to attack. That's alright though, I'll get him this time, now that I understand how fast it is.

Then the spider raised it's leg for another attack, and the human rushed forward but this time the spider didn't strike. instead it jumped backwards and sprayed it's web on the ground where it had just been, there, that must have got the human. Wait where was it?

A noise to it's right, as if someone striking stone, turning it's many eyes to look at where the noise came from and saw the human hurtling towards it, off the wall? he ran on the wall? when did he get so…

The spider's head fell to the ground the connection between it's abdomen and head severed in one clean cut.

In truth Mora didn't expect the spider to pull a faint like that, but he knew his best bet at attacking it was from either above or below. And with Sprint burst finally coming off cool down, he was able to catch it off guard, however he only barely won, and that was only the first creature he encountered not even another challenger. If he didn't get stronger and fast there was no way he'd be able to survive the event, let alone win the challenge. Killing the spider had granted him two levels but…

Mora drew his dagger, wait was that movement? Whipping his head up to look at the spider's corpse. He could have sworn it just moved… There, on it's abdomen was the source of the movement, spider eggs. Evidently this spider was a mother and had been carrying her babies on her back. If they're just hatching it shouldn't be much of an issue, unless…

Stepping on the spider eggs did give him a slightly queasy feeling but it was well worth the 5 levels he gained off them. Especially since according to the window that had just opened up in front of him he was now able to choose a class.

'Congratulations on reaching level 5! Please select your starting class from the options below.

Fighter, Mage, Survivor'

What? Not only were there only three classes they were extremely vague. Fighter could be interpreted as a brawler or a swordsman which would probably want different stats and abilities. Mage was pretty self explanatory, but survivor doesn't even sound like they would have any combat abilities. Fighter is probably the safest bet.

Mora raised his hand to select his choice but then froze. My goal isn't to fight the other challengers, I could barely take down a monster so if I fought another human there's no way I could win.

'[Survivor]'

I'm not going to win by fighting everyone on equal footing, I'll use everything I can to get an advantage.
