BEHIND CLOSED DOOR

She opened one eye slowly, a strong light illuminated her face, the confusion she felt did not allow her to react as quickly as she expected. She moved her fingers little by little and then her arms, only to notice how they had captured her, she was tied up again with a respirator in her nose.

She growled. She growled so loudly that she caught her caretaker's attention.

"It seems that you have woken up."

She ignored the comment and continued screaming in anger, she hated being tied to someone inferior to her. She tried to set her own hands on fire to melt the chains but found herself in a pool full of water with only her face above the liquid. She breathed heavily and looked up, her captor was filling the square with his bare hands.

Ocean kept questioning how it was possible for someone to have the power of his brother Ayden.

"Does the light bother you?" he asked, standing in front of the spotlight to shade it.

Ocean looked at him carefully, he was no longer wearing the mask, he had thick skin, with semi-long brown hair, a large lock covered his right eye, his features were fine and he always carried his weapon.

"I checked some parts of your body," he said blushing, "you don't have any marks that could give me information about you."

Ocean turned red with anger upon hearing the comment.

"Who are you?" he asked, looking at her with a completely serious expression, as if he knew something about it, "where do you come from?"

The boy approached and pulled her to the edge of the pool, threatening her, and took off her respirator and the handkerchief that covered her mouth.

"You perpetrated my painting in the museum, and your skin is made of steel, like Simona Rey's, and you made my men disappear. Are you a traveler?"

He grabbed her wet hair to subdue her and forcefully submerged her head in the water for several seconds. Ocean was seething with courage but she didn't say anything. As soon as she surfaced, fire blew from her mouth as if she was a dragon. She managed to burn the ends of Shun's hair, who quickly stepped back, extinguishing the fire with his fingers, took the weapon and sedated her again with the darts to leave it in that cellar.

Shun went with his other men to put together all the information they had obtained.

"What have you found out?"

"Ocean O'Neill, twenty-two years old, is studying her last year of physics at the university in the capital of River East, she had an accident a few months ago so she is studying from home due to disability, the incident occurred during the night and she made a called this number," he showed him a card, "we traced the address and it took us to the Gagnon family house."

"And that family is…?"

"This will interest you," said the man, placing some folders on the table.

Shun pulled one of the chairs and sat down, opened the folder and took out some photographs.

"The couple has two children, who have been missing for around seven months, Zev and Milo Gagnon, aged twenty-three and twenty-one. The police have never found them. Do you have any idea why?"

Shun looked closely at the photographs of the two brothers, focusing mainly on Zev Gagnon. He stood up and asked for the videos from the museum's security cameras from seven months ago.

"Has the white beast communicated with you, young Shun?"

"She hasn't done it in a while," he put his hand on his chin.

They reviewed the videos one by one realizing that Ocean and Zev had visited the museum a couple of times and spent a long time looking at the painting of the most beautiful woman.

"Did you find any connection between Ocean O'Neill and the fire girl?"

The man shook his head but added something else.

"Ocean is doing her thesis on the quantum double, a theory that states that we have a double in dimensions higher than ours," he cleared his throat, "it will sound strange but perhaps the fire girl is Ocean's double, they are very similar and there is no registration at the town hall of the fire girl, she is not from here."

"Okay, now I need the videos from last year's train recruitment," he ordered gently.

They reviewed those videos, reliving Zev Gagnon's triumph against Simona Rey, the girl with the tough skin, and his possession by the most beautiful woman.

"This is worth gold," he clenched his fist and looked at his men, "I will be drawing conclusions, please don't bother me for a while and if possible put Ocean in a deep sleep until I know what to do."

After a few hours, he produced a quick thesis with all the information he had and decided to pay a visit to his new captive.

"Hello Ocean, are you in a better mood?"

"Where is she?" She asked clearly for her double.

"You don't need to deny it, precious, I know everything."

Ocean's mouth cracked and she grimaced but pretended to cooperate so she could be freed.

"Listen, emo," she said, referring to the lock that covers part of her face. "I think we're starting off on the wrong foot. I'm willing to cooperate if you also do your part."

"Okay," he said with a flirtatious smile on his face and approaching her.

"Stay away," she reacted when she felt him close.

"You do not like me? Do you have a boyfriend?"

Ocean didn't answer anything about it, she just gave him a confused look.

"Will Zev be angry if I get too close to you?" He got into the pool to face her.

"¿Zev? Do you know him?" She was surprised, "and no, that's not my boyfriend!"

"So, does she have a different one?" he thought as he looked into her eyes.

He swam around her like a stalking shark as she scanned the area with her eyes. She saw the ceiling, its design was like a chess board and in certain white squares there was a silhouette drawn like an animal.

"You seem to know him well," he murmured, "you must know where he is, you must also know that the white beast possessed him."

"The white beast?" She asked while looking at the silhouettes on the ceiling tiles.

Ocean thought for a moment, the white beast would be a reference to Nix, the mother aether had many names and was known as the most beautiful woman as well.

"Who the hell are you?" She asked quite seriously.

"I know that you are not a traveler, you must also be a creation of the white beast. She took Simona's skin and said she would use it for someone else," he looked at her, narrowing his eyes.

"Loop of….," Ocean began to pronounce to scare the boy.

"No wait!" He made a movement with his hands, "I am the author of the painting 'the most beautiful woman', I painted that work because the white beast showed me the place in a vision but when Zev and Ocean went to the museum , this began to deteriorate and show some black spots on my painting."

"So, you didn't draw them?"

"Of course not!," He hit the water with his hands, "why would I ruin something so beautiful? You and Zev are the cancer in my painting."

"Well maybe beauty has its bad side, in my opinion it is a pretty ugly painting," she said with all sincerity, she didn't want to make the boy feel bad, she simply said what she really thought.

Shun made a sad expression when hearing that opinion, his work always had good reviews but for the first time someone didn't think the same.

"Ocean, what do you have to do with all this? With Zev, with the white beast, what are you doing in a dimension that is clearly not yours, or are you here by mistake?"

"I don't know how I got here."

"Liar!" he raised his voice, hitting the water once again.

The boy acted crazy, at times he was kind and flirtatious but he could also get very upset and aggressive.

"Okay, it's all Zev's fault," this time she wasn't lying, "it's all her fault and if you want to know what I have to do with this, ask him, he's the one who breaks the balance of everything, I'm just a pawn in his game, just like everyone else."

At that moment Ocean's body began to evaporate along with the water, it transformed into a small flame that was extinguished little by little below the pool, this with the intention of letting go. She knew it was risky but she had to try it.

Shun quickly took her out and called his men to enclose her in an air capsule and return her to her true form, with the help of oxygen they would make her recover.

"She is going to try to escape, we have to do anything to prevent it."

When they introduced the flame into the capsule, it began to grow larger, so much so that it took on a human shape. Shun was impressed by what Ocean could do, she was able to turn her body into tiny fire and perhaps abysmal fire if she so desired.

When her body was fully formed, her face began to smile and a joyful sigh made her utter a name.

"Evander," she said with serenity in her voice.

"Evander?" Shun frowned as she hypothesized.

He returned to the office and wrote that new name he heard on the blackboard, creating his own map of the case.

"Ocean O'Neill, Zev Gagnon, Ocean of Fire, Evander, are they perhaps quantum doubles?"

He ran to the monitors and turned on the air pod room sound to hear Ocean say anything else.

"Evander, are you here?" She said at the same time that her body was burning in flames, "come get me, I want to go home."

Ocean, with her eyes closed and speaking without even thinking, was able to see what was happening in her dimension, she saw Zev floating in the middle of an immense sea.

"Ayden's loop."

"Ayden?" Shun was still attentive to her words, "Loop?"

He wrote down quickly on the blackboard so as not to miss a single detail.

"This water is relaxing, don't you think?" Another voice was heard that as much as Zev and Ocean heard, Shun could also do it.
