The break in

Around six o'clock Alice was finishing up an important call meant for Christian that day, she had obtained a script from his work partner that usually works on the projects with him.

Getting off the phone she felt exhausted smacking her hand down on the desk, getting up she went to visit the others hanging out on the other side of the room.

They were all whispering to themselves making sure to keep their tone down instead of their usual excitement amongst each other.

"Liam, why is everyone being so quiet?" Alice asked.

Handing back the documents from earlier to Liam, he hesitated to speak to her.

Another female co-worker bumped into Alice from the back, they are all packed into the small area like sardines. She felt claustrophobically cramped and confined to the corner.

Alice pushed herself on another whom she was a close friend with, pulling her away from the crowd out into the hallway so the others could not interrupt them.

"Alice, what's your problem?" She argued.

"Lenia, why is everyone acting so weird?" I whispered.

"Haven't you heard? Mel had to take Christian to the hospital." Lenia explained.

"He what?" Alice shouted back, "Is that why he isn't here today?"

"Mel thought he was faking it, coming to the house he was found unable to move…"

"Is Mel with him now?" Alice questioned with concern.

She found she was soon gnawing on her nails gawking down at the floor, Lenia was suddenly checking her phone, Alice heard a tiny gasp.

"Thank you, Babe!" Alice responded.

Lenia waved without looking back at Alice, she sticks her hand out shaping it into a fist, they both bump a couple of times before she leaves.

"Don't get into trouble," Lenia stated.

Running down the hall to the turnstile doors she swiftly makes it to her locker taking out her handbag and wallet. Sprinting out she was stopped by two men dressed in black.

"I got to leave assholes!" Alice contested.

"Please go back inside till we tell you to go out!" The large burly man threatened.

The other co-workers start to trail out to the lockers, Alice turns in a panic to find they are also going home. They all look up at the very large men standing guard in awe.

Please go back inside till we tell you to go out!" They both yelled at the same time.

"What is going on here?" Lenia asked.

"Please go back inside till further notice." One of the men in black explained.

There was a clamor of voices outside the office, Alice could make out black cars and vans parking inside uniformly along the side of the building.

A woman could be seen coming forward dressed in a long black uniform, her black skirt was skin tight around her legs. Around the back, you could see a long slit riding up the side of her leg.

Her long black hair was pinned to the top of her head crudely, green pencils were stuffed in between.

Men accompanied her inside, her sights were set on Alice drawing her gun from her bolster hanging from her hip aiming straight at her face.

"So it's true the hellspawn is here!" The woman shouted.

Alice could feel her face redden as she could hear her fellow friends and people she knew chattering behind her back, she only smiled.

"Hell spawn? Who the hell are you?" Alice clarified.

"I am asking you to come with me, Alice Walsh!" She said holding a pair of cuffs.

"They wouldn't work on me, idiot!" Alice explained.

Snapping her fingers, the cuffs fall apart in her hands, the woman growled back in anger, she fired the gun off at Alice.

"Alice!" A voice echoed off the walls of the entrance, the bullets ricocheted, a man of small stature, fluffy brunette hair, and bright gray eyes dressed all in black swiftly grabbed for her hand leading her away from the spray of bullets pursuing them.

"Run Alice!" Liam shouted.

Several bodies could be heard dropping to the floor in the distance, Alice tried to twist, but Alex clutched her palm harder when she attempted to halt dragging her away.

"Stay concentrated Alice!" He scolded.

"Wait...Alex! Those are my friends back there!" Alice roared.

"We have to get you out of here now!" Alex yelled.

"Christian is at the hospital, Alex!" Alice shouted back.

"I know! We gotta get him as fast as possible!"

Running down a very long corridor meant to be a fire route, two men stand between the two.

"Alex, those are the only first set of doors!" Alice chided.

Alex lets Alice's hand go, gradually he walks backward keeping his eyes focused on the pair. Swinging his back he hunched down on all fours galloping at full speed at the two.

They shout barely eluding his charge smashing the door off its hinges, Alex spins around to find Alice in the hands of the men in black.

"Surrender if you want your girlfriend back!" He shouted.

"Alice…" Alex mumbled.

"You need to go now, Alex!" Alice pleaded.

"No, you idiot!" Alex scolded.

"Do you need help?" A low baritone voice asked.

The man looked up with terror in his eyes, the tall man dressed in red and black pinstripes chomp down firmly into his neck thrusting him to the ground.

Alex is so shocked he could barely say anything, the tall man places his hand on Alice's shoulder slightly rubbing them with his bony fingers.

"You gave me a scare you asshole!" Alex argued.

"You would have gotten the sword killed if you had it your way!" He snapped back.

"Dominique came too I see…" Alice chirped in a small voice.

"I knew some pipsqueak couldn't carry this job!" Dominique stated.

Dominique covers them from the back walking through the destroyed double doors to the main fire exit, Alice felt annoyed from the sight of Dominique.

"Are you forgetting about me already Alice?" The strangers' laughter shrieks.

"Oh no the weird woman!" Alice shouted.

"It's just Everett's weird sister…" Dominique answered.

"Sister?" Alice questioned.

"Oh no, I thought you forgot me!" She said with a stomp, "Wait you are Dominique then…"

"Likewise...you are still a brat, Everly." He responded irritated.

Everly gets on her radio talking to the people out front, you can hear them exchanging conversation back and forth.

"Do you guys have a clan member who is tall, dressed in an Indian sari like the whole shebang, I am not cultured enough to describe this group at the hospital?"

"Everly we don't have anyone like that," Dominique replied curiously.

"I see...we need to get to the hospital now then!" Everly answered.

"What do you mean? What happened?" Alice yelled.

"I think they took your friend!" Everly responded with a pale face.

"Christian…" Alice said.

Alex takes Alice's hand, trailing behind Everly they get out to her car parked by the exit. The last one in the car is Dominique due to his height.

"I am going to turn on the sirens, I will try to get us there as soon as possible!" She shouted.

"He is in danger, please do what you can!" Alex replied.

"I will do anything for my big brother's clan!" Everly said with glee in her eyes.
